Based on the bestselling book series by Paula Danziger, with over 10 million copies in print, Apple TV+ has decided one season was enough for the kid series “Amber Brown,” which showed an unfiltered look at a girl finding her voice through art and music in the wake of her parent’s divorce.

Starring Carsyn Rose in the title role, the show starred “Grey’s Anatomy” alum Sarah Drew as Amber’s mother, Sarah Brown, and “The Bold and the Beautiful” star Darin Brooks as Max, the new man in Sarah’s life. The series also starred newcomer Liliana Inouye as Brandi, Ashley Williams as Aunt Pam, Michael Yo as Philip and Joshua Gallup as Justin.

According to Deadline, which first reported the news, the cancelation comes more than eight months after the entire 10-episode first season dropped on the service and after the show’s cast options reportedly lapsed.

The show was written and directed by Bonnie Hunt, who also served as an executive producer and showrunner. Jon Rutherford and Bob Higgins were also executive producers.
