While the network does not generally comment on the status of actor contracts, a rep for ABC has confirmed that Marcus Coloma will be exiting the role of Nikolas Cassadine on “General Hospital.”

“The show can confirm that Marcus Coloma will no longer be playing the role of Nikolas Cassadine. His last airdate will be at the end of January,” reads a statement released to Soap Opera Network by ABC.

According to an earlier report by Daytime Confidential, despite being involved in several front burner storylines, Coloma’s time on the soap ended upon the actor learning he was being let go. As a result, he “declined to film his final scenes.”

Coloma joined the cast in 2019.
