Gregory Zarian, That’s Amor, Netflix

This summer, Netflix released a romantic comedy about a young woman who loses her job the same day she catches her boyfriend cheating on her. Hoping to start things over, Sofia (Riley Dandy) meets a dashing Spanish chef who might be the missing ingredient to her beating heart. The movie is called “That’s Amor” and features soapers Gregory Zarian (“Venice: The Series”) and Bryan Craig (“General Hospital”). While Craig plays the cheating boyfriend, Zarian’s David and his partner Todd (Paul Witten) help guide audiences into a world of Spanish dishes that establish the scene for romance between Sofia and Matias (Isaac Gonzalez Rossi).

In an interview with Soap Opera Network, Zarian talks about what it was like working on the movie, whether we might see more of our cooking characters, and reveals that “Venice: The Series” is coming back for a seventh season, albeit the latter portion was discussed off-camera, post-interview (sorry)

In its first two weeks of release, the film debuted in ninth place among Netflix’s Global Top 10 list, ranking in 36 countries, with 10.470 million hours viewed. In week two, the movie shot to fourth place in the Global Top 10 list, ranking in 70 countries, with 17.420 million hours viewed. Since then, the film has been a consistent daily pick for Netflix users.

The movie cast includes Daniel Edward More, Arlene Tur, Kimberly Drummond, Christina Moore, Rose Portillo, Suleka Mathew, John Ducey and Nancy Lenehan. Shaun Paul Piccinino directed the film from a script by John Ducey.
