With this week kicking off the show’s 50th season, premiering Friday, September 30 on CBS and Paramount+, “The Young and the Restless” has unveiled a new on-air promo look.

Utilizing a gold number “50” next to the iconic red colored “YR” paint stroke, the show’s brand new design removes the red backdrop design the show had used since November 2020 and replaces it with a cloudy white backdrop highlighted by Genoa City high rises in the foreground.

Further reflecting the design change are updates to the show’s official social media handles (@YRInsider @YandR_CBS on Twitter; @theyoungandtherestless on Facebook; @youngandrestlesscbs on Instagram) which were updated on Monday, September 26, with a simple “YR50” for the avatar and a “YR50” background which notesthe show is available with new episodes airing weekdays on both CBS and Paramount+. A “CBS Original” bug is placed above the icon.

In the first on-air teaser clip using the new design, the show displaced their regular weekly storyline highlights with one featuring classic moments of mostly current characters from episodes past as the show excites fans with the phrase, “Giving You Whatcha Like for 50 Years.”

Clips shown in the promo include a romantic moment from the early days of Jack (Peter Bergman) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford); the iconic cake fight between Katherine (the late Jeanne Cooper) and Jill (Jess Walton); another romantic moment, this time between Michael (Christian Le Blanc) and Lauren (Tracey Bergman) in the park; the smiling face of Malcolm (Shemar Moore); a memorable night between Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nicholas (Joshua Morrow); one of Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) weddings; and the decisive moment Jack threw an office chair outside his Jabot high-rise office. Concluding the promo are recent scenes featuring catty moments and several additional bouts of romance on display between characters.

Future promos will continue the on-air look but will feature sneak peeks at the week’s upcoming episodes, as has been done in the past.
