Webmaster Errol Posted September 23, 2022 Webmaster Share Posted September 23, 2022 On Wednesday, September 28, the January 6th Committee will hold their next hearing, the first since July. The hearing will again occur during the daytime hours, beginning at 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT. As has been the case since the hearings began in June, the broadcast networks are likely to preempt all or part of their daytime lineups, primarily impacting “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “GMA3: What You Need to Know,” “The Talk” and “General Hospital” wherein episodes will push forward as has been the case for the soaps in particular. Meanwhile, the first half-hour of “The Young and the Restless” is expected to air before being broken into by CBS News coverage. The entire episode will be available later in the evening via Paramount+ on CBS On Demand. “We’re looking at the process of being able to look at the report … as well as closing the loop on any potential witnesses,” said Committee Chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D, Mississippi) last week when questioned on when the next hearing would take place. According to Politico, Thompson noted that the intention to continue the hearings is so they can create an interim report by mid-October, with a finalized report planned by the end of the year. “We sunset at the end of December,” CBS News reports Thompson said. With “Days of our Lives” now airing exclusively on Peacock, the show will be released on schedule and without interruption. Members janea4old
@Errol zap2it.com (TV listings website) now shows Wed. Sept 28, 2022 as follows: zap2it shows that CBS is broadcasting the hearing starting at 1pm Eastern. zap2it shows Y&R as a rerun (or no Y&R at all, or half a rerun, depending on timezone). ... with all previously-listed upcoming (spoiler) episode descriptions now moved to the following airdate. zap2it shows B&B fully preempted in all timezones with everything moved to the next airdate. zap2it shows ABC airing their regular lineup (GMA3) instead of the hearing. With GH airing at 3pm Eastern. (but I think that's unlikely because GH is usually preempted for anything and everything). _____________ ontvtonight.com (another TV listings website) shows Y&R and B&B airing at usual times with zero preemptions; and they show all the spoilery episode descriptions through the following week, with nothing shifted. __________ I have found zap2it to be more reliable but who knows. Webmaster Errol Posted September 27, 2022 Author Webmaster Share Posted September 27, 2022 Looks like there won’t be any preemption as things are getting postponed due to Hurricane coverage.
Members Noel
I watched on msnbc that the January 6th Committee were going to postpone the hearing tomorrow (9/28) due to Hurricane Ian. Plus, they have some more things under development besides Roger Stone. Edited September 27, 2022 by Noel
Members janea4old
That makes sense to postpone the hearing. Whenever they hold the hearing, ideally it should be the only thing on the news that day. Edited September 27, 2022 by janea4old
Members Noel
Yeah, I wonder what Rachel Maddox will be doing. She announced that she was going to be on Wednesday evening with her msnbc colleagues. Well, I guess it's Alex Wagner then (which is fine). I just enjoy seeing a whole slew of them together - especially Stephanie Ruhle (that's my girl!), Rachel Maddox, Alex Wagner, Nicolle Wallace, and Ari Melber.
