A prolific career in daytime television, writing for such soaps as “Capitol,” “As The World Turns” and “One Life to Live,” former “Beverly Hills, 90210” writer/producer Jessica Klein has died. She was just 66 years of age.

Klein passed away on July 13, 2022 at 8:21 a.m. with her family by her side at her home in Beverly Hills, CA, her daughter, Shira Rose, revealed in a Facebook post. “It was peaceful. We were together,” Rose said. Klein was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November of last year.

Best known for her work on the primetime soap “Beverly Hills, 90210” as a writer and producer over six seasons on the series, Klein was married to the late Steve Wasserman who died in 1998 after falling overboard during a sailing trip. He was 45 years old at the time.

While not always working side by side at the same time, the two did find themselves overlapping with writing credits on “Capitol” and “As The World Turns,” and primetime shows such as “Northern Exposure,” “Mancuso, F.B.I” and “Gabriel’s Fire,” along with their work on “Beverly Hills, 90210.”

Klein would go on to marry Isaac Levenbrown in 2000, a painter and audiovisual expert. In 2011, the couple relocated to Virginia where Klein began teaching screenwriting courses at Drexel University. Following his death in 2014, Klein relocated to Toronto and returned to Los Angeles in 2018.

Klein joined the online reboot of “One Life to Live” in 2013 as a writer with credits for all 39 produced episodes. She later worked as a supervising producer on the show “The Other Kingdom” and a consulting producer on the Nickelodeon series “Make It Pop.”

In addition to her daughter, Klein is survived by her stepchildren, Josh, Brittany and Jonathan; her grandchildren, Shayna, Mendel, Zisi, Asher, Lily and Elliott; and her brother, David.

    • The fact that there's so little action in the Y&R threads whereas I can barely keep up with the Beyond the Gates threads says a lot right there.
    • Im convinced that had Karen Huger not been in jail, Anastasia was meant to be her recurring role

    • I think Dani cares about her sister, but I agree with you. She's using this whole mess to be heard and make herself feel better. I wish Ted and Eva told her to fck off. I had to laugh when Dani commented on her and Anita confronting Ted. She acted as if they destroyed him. That's not what I saw. Dani has been dialed back from those first weeks, but I can't say she's likable. As long as she's throwing shade at Eva for her work as a hairstylist -- while ignoring that she did nothing except eat celery sticks and walk the runway -- she can kiss off. Barely tolerable, and Lindstrom is terrible in the role. I don't find him scary at all, and his money laundering plan is stupid as hell. I gagged when he texted Vanessa to ask if she was thinking about him. That's throw up time.   I just don't see how that makes Ashley any more interesting. And are we really asking for another storyline where a father connects with his adult daughter? I know there's no direct parallel to Eva's story, but come on. If you're in the minority, I'll join you. I have zero interest in any of that. -- I still fail to see Nicole and Vanessa as best friends. Nicole is grounded and stable and responsible, and Vanessa is not. It made more sense to have Dani and Vanessa being close. -- Ashley and Derek were actually OK today. I feel sorry for the actors, honestly, because they've been given nothing. It's crazy, because so much of the rest of the show is firing on all cylinders.
    • Same. But given how the writers like to have her have good moments and bad moments...and Dani has been background as of late...it's about time she had some bad moments.
    • I don’t even know why you responded to the bait.
    • I only watch for Sharon and she’s barely on. The only good thing going at the moment is Jack and Diane scenes and they’ve made Diane such a wuss lately which is making that unbearable to watch too
    • I feel like Earl Hamner and his crew brought in Richard* BECAUSE they knew almost right away that Robert Foxworth was so dull as Chase.  At any event, Richard, IMO, proved to be much more interesting as Angela's chief adversary. (*Or brought him back, depending on whether we're including the original "Vintage Years" pilot).
