She owned a shop Nancy wanted to work in and was involved romantically with both Don and Bob Hughes. Her most famour soap role was Bess Shelby on Ryan's Hope (1983-1987) as the biological mother of Jill Coleridge (late Nancy Addison). She guest-starred in "All My Children" in 1993 as Emma Mallory.
