Now that Dick Clark is gone and it seems Ryan's the new "Mr. New Year" i keep thinking about the original "Mr. New Year" Guy was on television long before Dick came on...even before television Guy did radio broadcasts on New Years Eve.

Does anyone remember watching it or maybe your parents watched it? For me, my grandparents watched him. My parents were young and popular...out every New Years eve to parties. My grandparents watched it every year until Guy died in the late 1970's and then grugingly got into Dick Clark.

    I used to watch Guy Lombardo on NYE with my parents. The show took place in the Waldorf Astoria Ballroom. I remember a few funny sights from those shows. One time a lady was dancing on the table. Another time, one of Guy's singers threw up in his hat.
