A bit late, but congratulations Denmark! smile.png

This means that two out of three Danish victories have come when the competition's been held in Sweden. (2000 and 2013). And one of three Norwegian wins (1985) also took place in Sweden.

Preparation for the 2014 edition has just begun. 22 countries have already confirmed their participation.

However, some countries will no longer take part: After Bosnia & Herzegovina has dropped out in 2013 and probably won't return in 2014, their neighbor Croatia is also out of the competition following a string of bad results and financial problems of the broadcaster.

Turkey will not return. Instead, they try to establish a show called "Turkvision" where only countries and autonomic regions will take part whose population consists of Turkic people. closedeyes.jpg That includes most of the Central Asian countries and some regions of Ukraine and Russia.

By the way, in Germany we have our own little annual ESC called "Bundesvision Song Contest" where all of the 16 federal states compete against each other. The show's been held since 2005. Last week, the 2013 edition took place and Lower Saxony won with Bosse and his song "So und So".
