Congratulations to younger actor winner Chandler Massey (Will) who became the 9th actor in "Days of Our Lives" history to win a Daytime Emmy! He joins two-time winner Macdonald Carey (Tom Horton, lead actor, 1974, 1975) and winners Susan Flannery (Laura Horton, lead actress, 1975), Suzanne Rogers (Maggie Horton, supporting actress, 1979), Leann Hunley (Anna DiMera, supporting actress, 1986), Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali, supporting actress, 2009), Billy Warlock (Frankie Brady, younger actor, 1988), Darin Brooks (Max Brady, younger actor, 2009) and Hugh McPhillips (Carl Pearson, guest appearance, 1980).

Congratulations also go out to the "Days of Our Lives" writing team of Marlene McPherson, Darrell Ray Thomas Jr., Dena Higley, David Cherrill, Carolyn Culliton, Richard Culliton, Rick Draughon, Christopher Dunn, Lacey Dyer, Jeanne Marie Ford, Janet Iacobuzio, David A. Levinson, Michelle Poteet Lisanti, Fran Myers, John Newman, Ryan Quan, Peter T. Rich, Roger Schroeder, Lisa Seidman, Elizabeth Snyder, Christopher Whitesell and Nancy Williams Watt for winning just the 2nd "Days" Daytime Emmy for writing. The first, and only, time "Days" had won for writing was for its first full-year as an hour program, in 1976, the year that Marlena Evans was first introduced to viewers!

The makeup team of Gail J. Hopkins, Nina Wells, Deidre Decker, Joleen Rizzo and Glen Alen Gutierrez as well as stunt coordinator Terry James also won Daytime Emmys at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on June 17. Head makeup artist Gail J. Hopkins has now won a record 5 Daytime Emmys for "Days" (1988, 1991, 1992, 1997, 2012). She now has won 2 more Daytime Emmys than any other person in "Days" history. She joined the "Days" staff in 1984 and became head makeup artist in 1994. Stunt coordinator Terry James' win is the first-ever Daytime Emmy for "Days" in the stunt coordination category.

"Days of Our Lives" has now been nominated for a total of 212 Daytime Emmys, and has won a total of 32 Daytime Emmys in its history. "Days" was nominated for a record 15 categories for this year's awards. A total of 29 people received Emmys for "Days" this year, bringing the all-time total to 89 people who have won Daytime Emmys for "Days" throughout its history. • I have a very different view of Dano. For one thing, she like me, loves her little dogs. Another thing, of course she is effusive, outgoing but she is also very vulnerable & she used to have her Frank, her mother & Vivian who officially was her publicist (I think) but she was so much more. Now, they are all gone. Well, except for her always having a pair of her little dogs. But, if I were going to think in your terms, what I would think is "cool aunt". Because this lady is really one cool dame. Here is one of my favorite views of her https://www.instagram.com/reel/DGecq8rJS4w/

    • I found it to be a rather odd way to deal with a character departing for parts unknown.
    • Today reminded me as to why I’m a little disappointed in the name that the new Pope chose

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab this episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). I thought we had the full HD version of ep.3170 on the YouTube channel, but it appears they added the wrong episode but labelled it 3170.
    • I guess, according to Mike Manning in the Michael Fairman chat, he was almost Derek
