That's a shame. I remember watching her duets with Paul Simon and Linda Rondstadt on SNL.

She and her partner married in Canada a while back. I'm glad she had that chance.

Hers is one of those voices I absolutely love but have never properly seeked out... know what I mean? For instance I'm sitting on this memory of this lady on a talk show talking about all the jingles she sang like Safeguard and Stouffer's and Cotton (she couldn't say which ones so she sang up to a point and hummed the brand names Kathy Lee on Name That Tune-style. At any rate that must have been Phoebe or a very good sound alike.

Well we know she sang this:

I'd forgotten she sang the Different World theme song. I always liked her version, it had a good edge to it.

I wasn't that fond of "Poetry Man."

That was just heartbreaking. And you know, soap writers can't or won't come up with stories like THAT...and it's real life.

So true. It kind of reminds me of Ann Martin now that you mention soaps. It would really be something to watch a single mother (or father) devote their life to a special needs child cast with a real life special needs child actor. Soaps are so quick to get women pregnant then let the kids grow up off screen.

It's stories like these that really make me hope there's a life after this one.
