Members Sylph
I was wondering whether anyone here watches? I wanted The Oaks to be made, but turns out the British bought it and a Scottish playwright adapted it. It has Alex Kingston!
Members Paul Raven
I am enjoying it very much and hope that it all ties together at the end. How was this going to work as 'The Oaks?' Was it intended to be an ongoing series and if so,how was it reworked into a 5 parter?
Members Sylph
It's not a great work of art and is creepy, but I think it's quite watchable. Yeah, The Oaks was supposed to be a multi-season high-concept drama and should've started airing in 2008. However, it wasn't picked up and there were problems like the writers' strike and there was mention of a change of tone, it was supposed to be made more comedic. David Schulner, the original writer, who was inspired to write it after moving into a new house and wondering who lived there before, is credited in the ITV's show opening credits.
