Renée Fleming’s luminous sound, brilliant stage presence and superb artistry are just a few of the qualities that make her one of the world’s most beloved and recognisable musical figures. Her freshness and purity of tone, together with an exceptional musical intelligence and grace, continue to enchant audiences worldwide.

Renée Fleming recently sat down to discuss her upcoming album "Dark Hope," which the opera star describes as a "visit to a new, parallel universe." The album was produced by David Kahne (Regina Spektor, Shawn Colvin, Paul McCartney, Bangles, Sublime, and countless others) in New York City, and features a diverse and adventurous track listing:

1. Endlessly (Muse)

2. No One's Gonna Love You (Band of Horses)

3. Oxygen (Willy Mason)

4. Today (Jefferson Airplane)

5. Intervention (Arcade Fire)

6. With Twilight As My Guide (The Mars Volta)

7. Mad World (Tears for Fears)

8. In Your Eyes (Peter Gabriel)

9. Stepping Stone (Duffy)

10. Soul Meets Body (Death Cab For Cutie)

11. Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen)

That track listing is AMAZING! Most of those bands I've listened to and LOVED for years. I may just have to check this out to see her versions of some of my favourite songs.

Covering Muse! LOL She's done crossover before--stuff with Sting, etc, but...

I love her sound (her acting on the other hand, UGH)... And I kinda despise opera crossover, though this certainly sounds more interesting than, say Il Divo or G4.

(I have been a huge Leonard Cohen fan since I was a kid--I grew up with my parents playing him constantly, but I'm getting tired of Hallelujah covers, even if it did save him from his money woes, especially when they don't even cover Cohen anymore, they cover Jeff Buckley covering--and slightly rewriting--Cohen).
