This is an asian singer named Keiko... and she apparently is like some type of Karen Carpenter imitator.... but WOW, this is really amazing and strange at the same time.

Wow, that is somethin' else. Have to giggle though when her accent sorta darts out at you. :P

I have a friend who has a similar, Karen-sounding voice. I think what was so sexy about Karen's voice was that effortless, almost lazy quality (she probably was exhausted actually, but that's a separate subject) and so much depth, warmth, and soul came out. When her voice does that little dip and glide into her lower register, I love that.

They sound alike at the beginning, but then her accent takes over. They do both have a good lower register. I wish more women in music who don't do all that belting and wannabe diva stuff had a chance, especially since most of the divas lose their voices soon enough.

Karen's voice did have an effortless quality, probably even moreso because some of their biggest hits were songs she cranked out very fast. I believe they just went in the studio and did Superstar (which she didn't care for) in one take.
