Administrator Toups Posted December 13, 2009 Administrator Share Posted December 13, 2009 For primetime it's the adult 18-49 demos - that's what the network press releases and entertainment sites post about. So far this year: CSI/Office none/4.1 4.1/3.9 4.1/3.9 3.5/4.8 3.6/4.1 none/4.4 3.4/4.2 3.5/4.1 4.1/4.2 3.5/3.7 none/4.1 3.9/4.2 CSI AVG = 3.74 Office AVG = 4.14 Office Not in demos. The Office has one of the best shows in A18-49 in all on TV. On Thursdays, they beat CSI, Private Practice, and I believe the Mentalist. They are only second to Grey's. And in sitcoms, the Office is 3rd behind 2.5 Men and The Big Bang Theory. TVBythenumbers just posted this: Do Total Viewers Matter? The Office's demos are the reason why the show commands the 3rd highest ad rate on Thursday nights behind Grey's and CSI. I suspect next season, it will command more money than CSI...unless of course CSI starts to beat The Office in the 2nd half on this season. Administrator Toups Posted December 13, 2009 Administrator Share Posted December 13, 2009 LOL You said The Office's ratings suck, so I had to disprove that.
Members bellcurve
Fair enough. I still consider that MODEST success.
Administrator Toups Posted December 13, 2009 Administrator Share Posted December 13, 2009 I know you don't like the show, but you can't deny its demo success. Any network will want to kill that 4.1 AVG A18-49 demo, so it's no way a "modest" success in this era.
Members bellcurve
A18-49? Is that Adults 18-49 or Females 18-49? Correct me if I am wrong, but,(again, to mention) is there a difference in primetime between who is targeted? I always thought networks coveted the 18-49 Female in all dayparts, not adults. Or is this more NBC Spin Cycle?
Administrator Toups Posted December 13, 2009 Administrator Share Posted December 13, 2009 Every network reports Adults 18-49 for primetime. For daytime they report Women 18-49.
