The Daytime Emmys-- Happy At Last!

After decades of unhappily attending and watching the Daytime Emmys, longtime soap critic Marlena De Lacroix actually liked last night's Daytime Emmys! Dignity!

Tony Geary's tears! Finally a show that celebrated soaps instead of putting them--and we soap fans--down. All this and with a great sense of theater too...

I have to agree. This was a great Emmy telecast.

Everyone on this board knows that I love La Lucci. And last night she proved why she is still the Queen of Daytime. She has unbelievable presence and star quality that none of her "younger" co-stars will ever be able to match.

Great to see such a positive view in contrast to Sara Bibel's very negative article from her perspective in the press room.

The CW is a broadcast network, however, not a cable network. And Vanessa Williams's daytime connection is that she is the voice of an animated character for a show that was nominated, and she herself was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the "Outsanding Performer in an Animated Series" category for that role also.

That telecast was terrible, sorry. It was rushed from start to finish and they should be celebrating the nominated shows not putting on a stupid fashion show.
