OLTL: Another minority character?

This is just random, but the actress who plays newcomer Kimberly Andrews is Arab/Syrian. I don't know if this represents the character though. But it's interesting how diverse the cast & characters on OLTL are these days.

You got:

the gays (Kyle, Fish)

the blacks (Layla, Rachel, the Evans')

the hispanics (Vegas, Riveras, Langston, Noelle, Téa, plus that forthcoming new character Nick)

the biracials (Rachel, Langston)

the jews (Nora, Rachel, Matthew)

the handicap (Matthew)

the interracial couples (Todd and Téa, Moe and Noelle, Layla and Fish, the suble crush of Matthew and Destiny)

the plus sized (Moe, Destiny)

the rednecks (Natalie and Jared…sorry couldn't resist)

Now possibly a middle eastern character.

Llanview looks like its honoring Agnes Nixons quest for diversity of late, although it kinda smirches the Paul Rauch rich white 1980s. lol

With a name like "Kimberly Andrews," I doubt that the character is middle eastern, even if the actress is.

My first thought when I saw this girl was "Kim Kardashian", just like I immediately thought of Britney Spears the first time I saw Alexa Havins. I welcome the potential for diversity with open arms, but I don't like pop culture influenced casting choices, they always feel cheap to me and we're lucky the Bukes outgrew and outlasted the Ewings.
