I really think AMC's only saving grace is Annie/MCE....she carries the show right now. The only time its remotely interesting or entertaining is when shes on-screeen.

All My Children started going to hell in a handbasket during the horrid run of 'the writer' in 1997-1999, and it's been on a fast tracking journey ever since.

I think it started mid-late 1996, with Francesca James and Lorraine Broderick. Jamaica, the putrid return of Jake and the Martinization of Liza, the Hayley/Tanner story, Maria not knowing she was pregnant for 5 months, Erica stealing the baby, the Brooke/Pierce fiasco, the aborted fiasco of Janet being given plastic surgery to look like Brooke/Robin Mattson being fired, Brooke unknowingly getting involved with the man who took kiddie porn of her foster daughter...

Things have been worse and worse, with a few exceptions, since then.

All My Shadows, the "dead soap" analysis is one of the best I've seen. That truly is what AMC comes across as now. Like they are marking time.

Current? Kendall, Zach, Ryan, Colby, JR and Randi.

Past? Babe, Babe, Babe and yes... Babe.

Which Characters are unneeded or undeveloped and need to go

Taylor, Brot, Randi and Aidan. JR too. Colby just needs to be recasted with a better actress, Randi too.

Hate them all. The only thing worth watching on AMC now is Chrishell's and Melissa Claire's scenes.

What WOuld You Do To Fix The Show

Fire Pratt and hire someone who knows how to write a soap opera, not a primetime series. Stop killing characters, too many have died in the past 2 years. Fire Taylor, Brot and Aidan. Recast JR, Randi, Colby with people who can act. Establish a young teen scene (Petey and Colby aren't enough). Use veteran characters. Bring back fan favorite characters like Brooke, Dixie and Skye. The show needs to be about family, love, intrigues, not Harper's Island: The Soap.

How To Make All My Children Better

1) Downgrade Kendall,Ryan and Zach to a bare minimum

2) Fire Charles Pratt Jr or demote him from Head Writer

3) Decrese Deaths on the show

4) Bring Back The Heart,The Sense Of Family and The Humour

5) Fire Taylor

6) Bring Megan McTavish and Richard Culliton as Head Writers

7) Bring back Bianca and Resse and introduce a Lesbian Bad girl who tries to steal Bianca from Resse and control her

8) Try new types of storylines on the show

9) Bring Leo & Greenlee back just for a guest appearance

10) Introduce new exciting characters that bring a freshness to the soap

11) Give Agnes Nixon a creative job so she has some power on the soap
