I hate how this regime totally rewrote Jack and Phyllis's relationship as if it never meant anything to Phyllis. It was because of Jack Phyllis tried to become a better person and she was genuinely in love with him for a long time, but that seems to be thrown out of the window now.

Yeah, they had their problems under Smith, but I always believed Phyllis cherished what she had with Jack back then. Now, it's as if she's repulsed she was ever with Jack, and that Nick is supposed to be the be all and end all of her existence, completely forgetting that there was a Phyllis there that pre-dated any involvement with Nick.

Also, as someone else pointed out, they always played up Jack's longing for Phyllis and Phyllis's emotional connection to Jack right from the end of Smith's tenure to all throughout Latham's reign of terror. Now Jack is all about Sharon and is all about being her doormat.
