Does P&G Still Own Soap Operas?

Featured Replies

I have read on wikipedia that as of July 1, 2008, Procter & Gamble Productions handed over management of GL and ATWT to TeleNext Media, Inc. However, nothing seems to be mentioned as to whether or not P&G still owns these two soaps. Does anybody know if the current owner is P&G or TeleNext?

If TeleNext is indeed the new owner of GL & ATWT, I have a couple of other questions that I'd very much appreciate the answers to: (1) Does P&G still own all of the GL & ATWT episodes that aired prior to July 1, 2008? And (2), does TeleNext now own all of P&G's cancelled soaps as well?

I apologize if this topic was previously discussed on SON. However, I do not recall seeing such a discussion.

The key is in the word used, management. That's what TeleNext does, e.g. they oversee and coordinate the tasks of producing ATWT and GL for P&G, who still own both shows. Presumably, the terms of theie management contract would spell out the details of how much or how little TeleNext can do without approval from P&G.

Is it really a different entity or P&G Prod under a new name?

My take is that P&G prepares itself to sell it's TV show division and therfore re-branded it...
