Members rangethatrover
in 1987 or so when she left (was fired from) Y&R She said the producer who was a "he" called Y&R to make sure she wasn't trouble, as was being reported and he never called her again... My guess is Paul Rauch from OLTL. Brenda would have been an excellent Melinda Cramer and the timing is about right... Anybody have any ideas which soap was interested? Can you imagine behind the scenes with Strasser/Dickson/Slezak/Evans!!??
Members SFK
Someone asked the same question a while back, and iirc the answer was was indeed OLTL but for Blaize in the Old West s/l. Interesting that you should ask given the time travel retread and return of Loyita Chapel who played Blaize.
Members SteveFrame
Yes it was OLTL. Daytime TV magazine had it in their news section during that time.
Members DaytimeFan
That would have been hilarious if Brenda Dickson had been on the show. Unfortunately, Strasser wasn't there at the time (she was giving primetime a shot and she did reasonably well) so she wouldn't have been able to cut Dickson down to size. Erika Slezak would have just ducked for cover and Andrea Evans wouldn't have cared less.
Members rangethatrover
HA! I KNEW IT!!!! Too funny. She would have been perfect for the campy 80's OLTL!!!! And it just sounded like Paul Rauch who would call Bill Bell and make sure she wasn't trouble. I would have loved to have seen her as Blaze. Loyita is slightly boring.
