Members rhinohide
http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-acto...1,7042151.story LA Times Link I don't really have a position on whether the strikes are a good thing or a bad thing, necessary or who is deserving of what, because that all depends on where you're sitting. I will say that in my experience, regardless of the industry, strikes accomplish a few things at least in the short term. They garner larger portions, of a smaller pie, for fewer people. If the industry recovers and there is growth, the pie grows, and everybody is better off. But in the case of soaps, and the television industry in general, that hasn't been the case. Members Darn
Quite a few soaps would benefit from no actors...or sets...or scripts. A blank screen would be more riveting than say, Guiding Light.

Members foxhunter
I think that SAG needs to stop bashing AFTRA. There'll be another strike because they are pushing for a better deal than the DGA and WGA got. That's fine, but to openly encourage members of both SAG and AFTRA to vote down AFTRA's new pact is below low. And to stage anti-AFTRA rallies makes me sick to my stomach. SAG is really making itself look bad because of their behavior and they'll probably get away with it.
