GH Writer Addresses Michael Shooting

I have no words to describe this hack and delusional psychopath. I wish he would put himself on GH as a character so Jason can blow him away.

He really is one cow short of a dairy farm

Guza is delusional.....

I would be shocked if he were to tell me that he does not take antidepressants or does not see a shrink and/or therapist

Monica will probably get a to interact with Jason a little over this and at some point Bobby could surface but it's still not going to be a family story because it was set up to be a mob story and that's what it will be. The viewers are supposed to see the opposing mob members as the real culprits and not Sonny/Jason's lifestyle. Jason already said you cannot really leave the mob and Sonny has said before that he tried to leave but he couldn't. Carly cannot completely disavow the mob without giving up Jason which isn't going to happen on this show anytime soon. While people are supposed to sympathize with Sonny/Carly/Jason over this and hate Ian, they'll probably find some way to make guilt ridden Claudia look sympathetic so that it can be business as usual.

Guza's gold hearted mobsters are doing their best. They called a truce and the other non-code honoring mobsters are the ones at fault. The rest of his drivel has to do with how he can use this to cause tension in the relationships that the primary three have.

The issue with this, is that it is all a plot device. What will the real emotional fall out be? It is nothing like what BJ's death (the classic soap child death all future sl's will be compared to) had in term of emotional fall out.

So Carly and Sonny are sad. So what? Who are they going to blame? The Zaccharia family? These one note villains with no sympathy, cool, but so what?

Will Sonny ever leave the mob? Not as long as Maurice wants a job and Guza/Phelps are in charge. What struggles will he have? None of this will matter as we all know in three months it will be back to the status quo. This should have been the jumping point for the show to move from the darkness and violence that have overtaken Port Charles. Then there would be a more character driven focus, and not all just plot point after plot point.

What will Monica and Bobbie's reaction to this be. We'll be lucky if we see them in an episode outside the funeral. Bobbie will prbly bring up BJ and tell Carly she knows how she feels. Then they will fall back into the back burner and Carly will find her comfort in her real support system, the cousin she never really knew or cared about, Lulu.

Then in three months, by the grace of God, Michael will wake up without any brain damage, and probably 10 years older. He will go from elementary school to applying for college. How cool will it be if Michael actually rejected his family, and returned to the Q's. He would be the reverse Jason.

What really gets me and pisses me off is the fact that at the end of the day, Guza writes Sonny like he is the boss. It's okay if Patrick and Robin are pregnant, it's okay if Nikolas is grieving for Emily, it's okay if Monica is mourning the loss of her family, it's okay if the citizens of Port Charles want to have fun... but it has to be cleared with Sonny first. He bullies everyone around and nobody says anything. Kate has compromised to the fullest with Sonny, when the CORRECT story would have been Sonny compromising HIS life for her. It pisses me off!

I am seriously considering starting a website and launching a campaign against Guza/Phelps. Would anyone be with me?

Wow. I don't know which part I am more offended by. I think it might be this particular quote:

''The show is about romance during wartime, for lack of a better term.

You know, when a lot of young boys and girls are serving in Afghanistan and Iraq and coming back to their families in coffins or badly injured, this statement is REALLY offensive. Wartime? Are Sonny and Jason soldiers? No, they are one-note characters playing traffickers who make money through wholly illegal means and murder anybody who stands in their way of profit and power. Not soldiers! And certainly not heroes.

And if you want to do a REAL mob war, how about pitting mobsters Sonny and Jason against the Eliot Nesses of PC police enforcement. Mac. Lucky. Alexis. Robert Scorpio. Anna. Have Jason defect to join law enforcement. Give it some balance. Make it about some REAL heroes -- the crime-fighters that put themselves on the line every day.

P.S.: What romance? Where? I haven't seen romance since Vanessa Marcil left the show in the late 90s.

''We're not going to make them all go in the garment business. That is not what this story is about,'' Guza says.

This is the third time Guza has made a backhanded remark about B&B. I'm not sure why; B&B has never competed in GH's time-slot. But it does hold the #2 spot in the ratings and, wow, that must irk Guza badly. A show about designers! Sequins! Camp! Relationships! With two women (Susan Flannery and Katherine Kelly Lang) as the biggest stars on the show! And one of them is over 50! Yeah, B&B must represent everything Guza hates.

I didn't catch that he was taking a jab at B&B. He introduced Kate as the it girl of fashion so it can't be as dreadful as he wants to make out.

I do agree with your other comments as well.

Oh, wow, do you know, I totally forgot about Crimson and Couture! I guess with all this mob death stuff and this kiss-ass article, I got distracted! Kate and Crimson are probably what Guza was referring to. It just got my blood boiling because last time he promoted May sweeps, he was all sniffy about how GH "isn't a show about designers showing off their latest designs. It's about life and death. It's real" blah blah.

I still think you're right and that he was taking a jab at them. Kate is probably his way of thinking he can entice some viewers by offering up a side order of couture with his shoot outs. I don't even think he can keep up with half the crap he spits out anyway. I mean wasn't Jason talking about danger, danger, danger before the Zaccharas were introduced to PC? Yet the other day he and Spinelli implied that things were quiet with the truce. Then where was the danger coming from before they showed up? If the idea is for viewers to watch without giving it a thought and just get swept up in the emotions of that moment, he ought to stop lying about laying out well crafted thought out story lines and call it what it truly is.
