Madonna to adopt baby from India

LONDON: 'Queen of Pop' Madonna is set to adopt a baby from India.

The 49-year-old singer has decided to adopt an Indian toddler after she failed to apparently find a little girl from Africa due to red tape, according to a report published in the 'The Sun' today.

Madonna is said to have fallen in love with India after she visited that country with her 39-year-old husband Guy Ritchie and kids -- Lourdes, 11, Rocco, seven, and adopted Malawian son David, two -- in January.

The 'Material Girl' would soon fly out to choose a baby after she finishes promoting her new album Hard Candy, sources said, adding that Ritchie had also agreed to the plan though he was initially opposed to it.

When in India, the couple met Bollywood choreographer Sandip Soparrkar -- who has adopted an Indian baby.

"We spoke about how there are so many children in India who need homes," Soparrkar told the British tabloid, claiming he's convinced that Madonna would definitely adopt one from that country.

Added the unnamed source: "Madonna was very taken with Sandip. He told her there were orphans who would melt her heart. Guy was against the idea, but when she wants something, she gets it.

"The two-year bid to adopt David was said to be very stressful. Guy thought Madonna was mad to want to go through it all again. He has always been unsure about adoption as his own mother was adopted and had negative experiences of that.

"But they talked and talked and decided adopting a baby from India would be easier."

But take a good look at this unbelievable sentence, especially this part:

... fly out to choose a baby...

As if babies were, I don't know, shoes? Just like that you can pick whichever you like and take it away with you...

This is just insane.

Regardless, the baby will be living in a good home unlike many unfortunate children who don't have the comforts and necessities that they should. This baby will be very blessed with his/her other siblings growing up.
