what does everyone think of the jay leno gay joke that he apologized for? was it offensive/inoffensive? he apologized to hypocritical glaad. i'm surprised glaad didn't go after jimmy kimmel for calling idol the "gayest season ever." either way, both leno and kimmel (and most especially kimmel's gf silvermann) are all unfunny.

GLAAD has taken Kimmel to teask before but he just keeps on doing the gay joke so maybe they have given up on him?

I don't think Leno meant anything by it. I think what he does everyday is try to be funny (even though he isn't) and make everyone laugh, but I do agree that he was out of line. I honestly don't think that he was thinking when he spoke and that happens to all of us whether if we want to believe it or not.

I don't understand why he was so scrutinized...sure it was a dumb remark and something he should not have said but haven't we all misspoken before? I was expecting something much worse. At least he apologized for it

What happened?

Jay asked Ryan Phillippe to give an impression of a "gay look" the way he would if he portrayed his gay character from OLTL. Leno said something, along the lines, "imagine Harrison Ford walking in half naked from Wyoming!" and he basically wanted Phillippe to give a gay look like his character, Billy from OLTL, would. Sure it was tacky but we all say offensive things at times.

i dont think jay met harm by it, but ti was too far and i was offended. ryan was obviously uneasy and tried changing the subject. jay pushed and pushed with gay looks and whatnot and glaad had every righnt and reason to bitch about it.
