So I just read that Kate Linder is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I know she's been on The Young and the Restless for about 26 years, but she's no Susan Lucci or John Beradino, the two soap performers who rightfully deserve their stars.

Kate Linder has done a tonne of charity work in LA and has been a senior member of the television academy for many years, she has many friends, this isn't a shock to me.

What's also of note is that anyone can have a star, they just have to come up with the money (that they can't donate directly).

Yes, anyone can have a star. This isn't a shock to me either given the politics within the academy. But frankly, I think there needs to be more stringent rules about receiving and giving out stars.

I am happy for her, she has done alot to support Y&R for many many years and has done things with the academy here in LA. I might go down when she gets it to meet her, i assume more stars will be there.

Jeanne Cooper has a star as well.

I really do thing that she deserves one. She's been a supporting character on Y&R for years, but she's played the role of Esther incredibly well IMO. Her scenes with both Walton and Cooper have been both funny and sad at times. Plus, like someone above said, she's done a lot of work outside Y&R as well.
