New Indiana Polls: Obama, Clinton In Statistical Tie

Posted by Ashish on 04.25.2008

Indiana looks to be the closest state in a very long time...

Two new polls of Indiana, the first two since Hillary Clinton's win in Pennsylvania, are out...

- Research 2000 has Barack Obama slightly ahead, 48% to 47%. A few weeks ago, they had Clinton leading 49% to 46%, meaning Obama improved 2% while Clinton fell 2%. Factoring in the margin of error, the poll shows a virtual tie.

- And Midwestern polling firm Selzer & Co. also has Obama ahead slightly, 41% to 38%, another statistical tie.

Two. You keep forgetting that many in the black community have really been turned off by what her and her campaign have done.

The issue here is that there's supposed to be this magical speech that will make all the black voters that support him and are put off by her campaign, fall into place. The thing that the "old network" fails to understand is that the younger voters are not bound by the traditional voting pattern. If they feel that this party has failed them then a new breed of independent voters may emerge. Generally the Democrats benefit from the fact that there are only two major parties and even though their party may not be meeting the needs of certain voters, they seem to be a whole lot closer than the Republicans. But the new breed is more likely to ask why they should settle and that could motivate them to go independent.

I think Obama and Hillary have the power to debate with the African American community as to why it is alright to vote for them as the ticket if he is on as VP...there are many reasons to give that a shot and, in the end, I am sure all will be forgiven once we have a solid debate on the power of the so called dream ticket

I don't care how many debates they have with the black commnuity.

We are PISSED at what has been done to him.

And I'm not saying that he has not played hard ball when he has had to. His hands are not clean either. But this notion that we should just turn a blind eye and deaf ear to what has happened is offensive.

I watch This Week and whenever Cookie Roberts is on there, she basically breaks him down to being "Just a pretty manwith nice words who ahs no substance", on top of......

The picture of him in tradional native apparell that was pushed to look like he was a Muslim (Which he isn't) by a member of the Clinton campaign........

Bill Clinton dimissing his win in South Carolina as being another Jesse Jackson (Which the black community truly have given him a pass on)........

And, most recently, the same former president who thinks the race card was played against him......and then denying he said that.

I'm sorry........but it just about at the point where there is too much water under the bridge to repair this relationship, and no amount of debates or speeches is going to change many sentiments in the black community.

That is BS. She had nothing to do with that picture. You should know better than to trust somethin from Drudge that claims she or someone from her campaign released that photo. Obama even said himself that he is certain neither she nor a campaign person sent out that photo

And you should know better than thinking that some debate or kind words will erase what has happened.

Wouldn't just a simple apology work well? I don't agree with what Bill or her said against African Americans but let's also not hold any grudges...we can certainly move on from their comments and stick together for the Democrat nominee for president.

Trust me, she had nothing to do with releasing the photo of Obama in the turban.

And how many times has Obama been forced to apologize for comments that his pastor made? I can't remember any other time a presidential candidate had to say he was sorry for remarks SOMEONE ELSE made.

And..........a heartfelt apology would have gone a long way after that photo BS. It may have even smoothed over hurt feelings after the S.C. comments.......

But to keep doing it over and over again? So sorry, sir, but we are not nearly as gullible as many would believe.

Fool us once, that's one thing. But we covered Bill's backside after he got caught with is damn pants down......

And you honestly think a simple apology is going to smooth over what he has done and what she has allowed to happen?

Why doesn't she start by apologizing for taking a day to make a half-ass comment about that N.C. GOP ad that was going to run.
