I mean... I don't like her writing all that much. I just like her as a person. :) She's great. :D

I'm waiting to see what happens with the Emmy Awards and whether Latham will be there if Y&R wins.

No more typical than you entering every thread about Ron Carlivati and trying to rain on the parade of OLTL fans, and you don't even watch that show from day to day, do you?

Yet, you're always saying in the ratings thread how good the show was and how it deserves to rise. Yeah ok...

And um, I've pointed out several times I think Bell did a decent job during the stike.

While you're mentioning Ron... I think he's a great guy, however, I don't think his writing is all that spectacular. Loads better than Higley's, yet that doesn't really mean all that much.

He is in that way very similar to Maria Arena, I love them as ‘personalities’, yet as writers they still have to impress me.

Not doing anything and watching the show stay in a stagnant rut it just as bad overt plot driven stories or killing off core characters IMO. The show is just too damn boring right now, and if I tune out, I don't care to tune in anymore.

I thought new regimes were supposed to start off with a bang, but look at what they planned for May sweeps, it looks like the same thing we've been seeing for a full two months already. Not to mention, she's been adding new characters like crazy to the show's canvas, which is really bad when nothing is really happening on the show.

They either really need to give her a good Co-HW, or just fire her and Griffith outright.

I actually think A LOT of Maria's weaknesses are being highlighted by Griffith's weak leadership of the show. He seems to be the one pushing for many new characters and she seems to fully agree with him.

Shaughnessy needs to come back, at least he had some type of vision for the show. If they don't want to hire anyone new who worked for the show before as a writer, they should just promote Natalie Minardi Slater to the position of HW. She's been there for a decade in several capacities, surely she has a good sense of what works for the show.

Me want to marry this post!! :D

I think Maria is doing an ok job. I would prefer is they could get Kay back! I also agree Alvin. I think with a 3.4 for Y&R things needs to change quickly! Y&R is loosing its viewers.

I agree. She just doesn't have the executive edge and lets someone else lead her. Also, God will only know what sort of a deal there is between the Bells, CBS and Sony.

Er... I don't know about Natalie. I still haven't figured out whether she or Janice is Kay Alden's protege. In any case, no more Kay Alden, thank you. :D
