Lisa heard her missing husband Eatl's voice and spotted a lookalike on her terrace.He left her a message that James Stenbeck had finally tracked him down.Tied into his disappearance was the arrival of reporter Gleenn Hrrington,who was one of the last to see Earl alive.

Glenn claimed he was actually an undercover agent and ingratiated himself with Shannon O'Hara,whose romance with Duncan was threatened by his maniacal ex-wife Lilith,who tried to muder her.Shanon became pregnany by Glen and then it was revealed he was actually in cahoots with James to drive Lisa crazy and had murdered Earl in Alexandria.

Glenn was also assisting James in his plan to return and kidnap his son Paul.hank Eliot intercepted a meeting between the two.James shot Glen and wounded Hank.after recovering Hank left town to tend to his lover Charles,who was suffering from AIDS.

James's helicopter was shot down but he escaped.Glenn's brother Mark came to Oakdale to apologise to Shannon,who fell for him.However,Duncan reappeared and convinced her to marry him.She lost Glenn's baby.

Meg divorced Tonio and married her cousin Rod,who changed his name to Josh.they departed For Texas to work in Cal's oil company.Cal was Josh's real father and he wooed Ema,Meg's mother,but had competition from Jarred Carpenter,Iva's real father.Jarred knew Kirk Anderson had married his niece Lenore,fathered 2 children and walked out on her.This revelation ended his romance with Iva.Kirk convinced Iva and Lenore that he deserved another chance and went for full custody of his kids,assuming Iva would be his wife.This scheme disgusted Iva and she returned his ring.Ivadecided to see a therapist about her bad choices in men.

Ellie Snyder returned after a relationship with Brock Lombard,a mobster and adulterer pressured by his father to stay married.Ellie had witnessed a hit perfomed by Brock and tried to warn Emily,his latest girlfriend.Emily was more concerned with the trial of Paul for the murder of his father James,who had returned again and discovered Paul had lost his virginity to his ex-mistress,Emily.

James tried to strangle Em and Paul shot him.Barbara had to deal with the fact that her son had slept with her enemy,and that Hal was furious with her over the fact that she knew that Adam was actually his child.

Lyla gave birth to Katie,but husband Casey was stricken with Guillian-Barre syndrome and had to undergo therapy in Boston.Blake Stephens came to work for Lucinda and attempted to woo Jessica,

A letter was delivered to John Dixon twenty years too late.Rosemary Kramer revealed he had a son and John went to find him.Duke was achild of the streets with achip on his shoulder.Susan Stewart went with John and wife Lucinda followed.She tried to discredit him but her plans failed and Duke came to Oakdale,where he dated Lien.

Lucinda brought his girlfriend Julie to town.When John learned of her continual scheming,he left hr and began an affair with Susan.Julie shocked John and Kim by becoming involved with their son Andy.

Tonio schemed to swindle Craig and Lucinda by creating a phony search for Sierra. Lily went to Montega,was injured and scarred.She met Derek,son of Lucinda's old friend NilesMason and married him on impulse.Niles and derek plotted to murder her for her money.This resulted in an explosion that killed Derek and caused Lily to leave town.Lucinda and Craig went to Montega to find Sierra but had no luck.Lucinda adopted Tonio's ward Bianca.Sierra did return home ,interrupting Craig's proposal to Ellie.
