I forgot Tiny Toons somehow, I loved them. I used to have a Buster Bunny stuffed toy.

Dinosaurs ... man there's a show I havent thought of in a while. Looking back, Not The Mama was a lame catch phrase ... but I just loved that guy.

And while we're discussing semi-cartoon shows like Dinosaurs. Did anyone else watch the old school Power Rangers. Back before they wern't allowed to have Morphin in their title cause it sounded too much like morphine? Those original 2-3 years. Back when it was Kimberly, Jason, Zach, Trini, Billy, Tommy? I loved season 1/2 MMPR. (Season 3 never aired on Canadian stations, and Fox on cable back then was not too comon)

Thinking about it, I could probably sing the theme songs to most of these shows we've mentioned.

And ya know, I feel sorry for the kids of the 00's. They really are getting ripped off. Cartoons are cancelled quickly, and are infearior. We got Animaniacs, Pinky & The Brain, Batman: The Animated Series, Spider-Man, etc. They get Pokemon and Beyblade. Um ... yeah.

Wow, I loved so many cartoons:

X-Men

Spider-Man

Bucky O'Hare And the Toad Wars (I totally remember that cartoon)

Gargoyles (which I loved)

Fantastic Four

Technoman

Iron Man

The Hulk

The Silver Surfer (this one and the above 4 back when UPN showed cartoons)

The Adventures of Batman & Robin

Sonic The Hedgehog

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Sailor Moon (though I wasn't really allowed to watch it)

Ronin Warriors (back when Sci-Fi had a cartoon lineup)

Mortal Kombat

Street Figher (this one and Mortal Kombat back when USA had a cartoon lineup)

Darkwing Duck (I loved this show)

Tiny Toons

The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin

Doug

Rugrats (nothing beats the original)

Transformers (both the regular one and the one w/ the beasts)

Wow....I am forgetting a lot. But I was totally a FOX Kid back when Fox had really good cartoons. I used to participate in the contests and stuff they had back then and everything. I liked the WB too, but I was totally a diehard FOX kid. Every Saturday morning I'd wake up before 8:00 so I could watch cartoons for 4 hours straight. Man those were the good old days. I'm 19 now.....that seems like so long ago.

Doug was also good

and how did I forget about Beast Wars ... and ReBoot! Especially ReBoot! I, like every other canadian teen/child was like stunned ... Bob was thrown into the Net by Megabyte and then ... nothing. Nothing for 2 years till we got a 3rd seasons that kicked some major ass(as seen much later on Cartoon Network, I believe it was about 3 years after we had it here in Canada)

Cartoons were never as good as they were in the 80s and 90s.

So ... after reading everything, and everyone else's reminders (it's crazy how much you forget when you get "older", 22 and I've forgotten so many of these) ... my definitive list.

The Adventures of TinTin

Aeon Flux

Animaniacs

The Avengers (I think it mighta been 2000, but it was the last in a string of 90s Marvel animated series that were good)

Batman: The Animated Series

Beast Wars: Transformers

Beavis & Butthead (with the music videos cut out)

Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars

Care Bears

Cybersix

Daria

Darkwing Duck

Doug

Duck Tales

Freakazoid

Garfield and Friends (how has no one mentioned this yet??)

Gargoyles

Goof Troop

The Head

Inspector Gadget

The Maxx

My Pet Monster

Nighthood (aka les Exploits d'Arsène Lupin)

Pinky & The Brain

The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest

ReBoot

Sailor Moon

The Silver Surfer (I remember being quite bummed it was canned)

The Smoggies

Spider-Man: The Animated Series

Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Tiny Toon Adventures

X-Men: The Animated Series

Does Global even have a cartoon lineup anymore?

    • Uh, yeah, huh?!!! Seriously, that was a brilliant line but its acumen is strictly from how hilarious. We imagine Joss in Carly's kitchen breaking the news that she's realized she's gay & Carly is unconcerned & then drops that it's Emma she's in love with ... time comes to a screeching halt!!! I think Moss would likely be thrown hard against the wall. Can you imagine Carly & Robin as mothers of the brides together?
    • @DRW50 Thanks for these. I had a procedure on my eyes and was just okayed for limited screen time the other day, but it is in short periods until Tuesday, when the doctor clears me.  I'll be adding in bits here and there, but Hoppers will be "hopping" after that. Upcoming: Rest in Peace, Denise Alexander, Ruth Buzzi and Priscilla Pointer Updating:   Max Gail, @Xanthe -- Will Lyman, who was lost in the shuffle a year ago, but his update from last year will be typed up;  New: Michelle Hurd and Shanola Hampton and others I'll b updating the edit-able profiles, too.

The shoulders and sleeves are too tight. He'd benefit from a larger size. The yellow arrows show where the shoulder cut should actually be placed in my opinion. I don't mind the granpa fashion per se, I just have an OCD with sizes LOL
    • Today May 11, 2025, Pope Leo briefly addressed the crowd in the square.  He sang the prayer to Mary and then said:   Dear brothers and sisters, The immense tragedy of the Second World War ended eighty years ago, on 8 May, after having claimed sixty million victims. In today’s dramatic scenario of a piecemeal third world war, as Pope Francis stated many times, I too address the world’s leaders, repeating the ever-timely appeal: “Never again war!”. I carry in my heart the sufferings of the beloved Ukrainian people. May everything possible be done to reach an authentic, just and lasting peace, as soon as possible. Let all the prisoners be freed and the children return to their own families. I am deeply saddened by what is happening in the Gaza Strip: may there be an immediate ceasefire! Let humanitarian aid be provided to the stricken civil population, and let all the hostages be freed. On the other hand, I have welcomed with satisfaction the announcement of the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, and I hope that through the upcoming negotiations, a lasting accord may be reached soon. https://www.vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/en/angelus/2025/documents/20250511-regina-caeli.html
    • Lol! I'm quite sure it would.
    • But that is pretty much situation normal for all soaps. They do not tend to continue to show things like surgical scars. They also play fast & loose with hospital procedures.
    • re: prior two posts about Trump's new opulent plane contrasted with utter starvation in Gaza... Trump and Netanyahu are giving "Let them eat cake".  And it's horrific. In 2013, Pope Francis removed a bishop from running the Limburg Germany diocese because he was constructing an opulent 31-million-euro building. This is from Reuters obit of Francis: https://www.reuters.com/world/obituary-pope-francis-shook-up-church-with-simplicity-raising-conservative-ire-2025-04-21/ From the start, Francis sent clear signals to priests and bishops about the type of Church he wanted. He said there was no room for "careerists or social climbers" among the clergy, told cardinals they should not live "like princes," and said the Church should not "dissect theology" in lush salons while there were poor people around the corner. "If investments in banks fall, it is a tragedy and people say 'what are we going to do?' but if people die of hunger, have nothing to eat or suffer from poor health, that's nothing. This is our crisis today. A Church that is poor and for the poor has to fight this mentality," he said early in his papacy. -- Pope Francis stood up for the poor, the unhoused, the migrants of all faiths.  He lived simply and ordered that when he died, that he wished to be interred in a simple wooden coffin. I sincerely hope that the new pope Leo will follow Francis' example.
