In an interview in the 9/25/07 SOW issue, Katherine Kelly Lang revealved that her recent rape story was something she and her husband pitched to Bradley Bell. "I wanted to see Brooke go through something different than 'Which man am I going to be with?'" she tells the magazine, so she and her hubby came up with the idea for the rape and went to Bell. Although Bell was initially hesitant about Brooke going through such an ordeal, Lang talked with a friend and came up with some additional ideas before she made another pitch to Bell, who then agreed to go with the general idea and worked out the details. So, Lang is a writer!?

GL was far from perfect in 1994, but still entertaining. When McTavish became HW, the show show a significant drop in quality.

I prefer Taggert's GL to Claire Labine. Esensten & Brown simply were not a good fit for the show. Cloned Reva?

Another case of non-writers writing: "In late 1977, Kate Mulgrew announced she would be leaving [Ryan's Hope] in early 1978 after completing location footage shot in Ireland which depicted Mary's second honeymoon with Jack. Between January 1978 and December 1979, three different actresses played Mary. Although [Claire] Labine and [Paul Avila] Mayer wanted to kill her character, ABC refused. However, after ABC realized no one other than Mulgrew herself would be accepted in the role, they agreed to let Mary be killed off. Mary died on the day of her sister Siobhan's wedding to Joe Novak."

Something similar almost occured on OLTL when Hillary B. Smith asked JFP to kill off Nora Hanen in 1999, but JFP refused. Had she accepted, JFP, a non-writer, would have been the one to kill off a character.
