ALL: MIT Study on Soaps

I saw this over on Soap Central's ATWT Board, from Sam Ford. Considering how insightful the interview with Kay Alden was, I thought people might be interested in the overall project:

"As several of you know, I've been doing my Master's work at MIT for the past two years about the current state and future of soaps through a case study of ATWT and its fan community. I look at new technologies and way to tell stories, the importance of "transgenerational" storytelling and legacy characters on soaps, and how producers can and should pay attention to their online fan communities.

Since several of you have seemed interested along the way, I wanted to share the thesis with anyone who would like to read it. My goal is to share it throughout the fan community. If you would like a copy, please e-mail me at [email protected].

Also, as I posted over on the Y&R board a few days ago, Kay Alden (former Y&R head writer) was a member of my thesis committee and recently joined me for a podcast series here at MIT about soaps."

I think the moderator can only do that. :)

Also, I believe that many people already emaild Sam Ford and he'll send them the thesis soon.

I wrote over at the other thread that I found his blog thanks to SON back when someone posted about his post on legacy characters.
