Members David V
Seeing B&B's blatantly obvious creativity problems of recent years, I can think of ways the shows can refocus itself whilst doing this through believable, character-driven storylines. Fashion Industry The fashion industry is a fascinating and diverse world, yet B&B singularly fails to tap into this gold mine of material to create storylines which depict personalities, corporate intrigue and hot button issues in the fashion industry such as the models' weight issue. LGBT characters It is truly astonishing that B&B, as a show of the fashion industry, has never had any gay characters on the show- when in any believable situation, they would be working and otherwise interacting with gay people on a regular basis in this industry. These are two things Bell needs to consider and, failing that, he might well need to step back from writing the show in favour of someone who can write the show properly and exploit its full potential. Members Cat
ITA with your suggestions and think that re-anchoring the show with its high-fashion roots is really important. I would also add that B&B has fundamental flaws to do with: -character-based writing which is almost non-existent now, -introducing and entrenching newbies, -rotating and using the characters in a MUCH more balanced manner, -slowing down the pace of most stories which speed from one breathless plot point to another.
