You think Migs' cellmate is a plant, Phoenix? I don't know? I thought it was obvious that he was trying to get Migs to let go of Kayria so that Migs can be his bitch! (Or his top). But that's the impression I got. Seriously! Didn't you hear that SCANDALOUS line about how he said Migs should let go of Kayria and find a bunkmate? How some of the officers are even "good"?! SHOCKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sheridan's comments while listening to Lucy were incredible!

Theresa was a LITTLE stupidthough, but I blame JER. It's something I can overlook, but come on, HOW does someone get lost from another person, even in a maze like that, if she knows it's dangerous and she should stay behind Ethan? I found that part a little contrived.

But. I cannot. WAIT. for Thursday's episode!!!

The blackmailer scenes were very intense today. He-she is, um, psychotic. I already knew the person was evil, but today the audience was shown his-her vulnerable side, which is perhaps more scary.

The Luis/Fancy goodbye scenes were heartbreaking. The Kay/Miguel goodbye scenes were not.

I caught the tail end of the eppy today and I thought the scenes fell flat. Why didnt Teresa get that knife and stab him/her while he/she was crying on the floor like a 5 year old. I had high hopes for these particular scenes and so far I am disappointed.

I will say Emily Harper is a great actress and I thought she shined in the scenes I did get to see today.

Wow, I couldn't possibly disagree with more intensity! Today's episode was so good that, for me, it was a SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE!! My body was just shaking with glee when Theresa taunted the he-she and called him a "freak" in several ways with more and more "passion" each time. BEST daytime moment for today. Well, okay, No. 2 behind Erica's PHENOMENAL "I think I'll miss you most of all, Scarecrow" line to Bianca. (I could have DIED right there.)b

But did you see when the he-she said he wasn't going to kill Ethan, but make Ethan "jelly"?!! SCANDALOUS AND HOT!!!

BEST "Passions" episode in months, easily. It had EVERYTHING!!

Sorry you didn't get to see the WHOLE episode to really see what was so great.

By the by, it wouldn't have made sense for Theresa to stab the he-she. Why? Well, HE-SHE is making the walls close in on Ethan. If Theresa kills the he-she,she will NEVER be able to save Ethan, because she doesn't know how to make the walls stop moving.

I have to hand it to JER. thanks for NOT going the easy route and having Theresa stab the he-she. thanks for having Theresa use her brain and realize: Ethan will surely die if I kill it!

JSF is right. Not only would stabbing him/her be bad for Ethan but who is to say the minute she goes to get the knife the he/she won't attack her. The stalker clearly isn't stupid. He/she could recover in time to stop her from getting it. That and she doesn't know how to hell to get out of there and so forth.

Those scenes were INTENSE AND AMAZING. LINDSEY WAS AMAZING!! (as usual). What great scenes and that end with her taunting him/her/whatever...wow. The two breakdowns the stalker had were enlightening. We got insight into the stalker and now I really do think it's Pretty. Did anyone catch that line that Theresa had where she said whatever is under there "isn't Pretty?" Now, of course, you could take that as Passions saying it wasn't Pretty (much like Alistair was crossed off the list yesterday) but I really do think the breakdowns hinted at this being Pretty, who was traumatized by Fancy and her family. I will be curious to see what Esme says about Pretty since she said something about her in the previews. Love the stalker's dialogue. Very sadistic.

Fancy/Luis was heartbreaking and the Fancy/Sam scenes were nice. Harper is fantastic!!

Liked Sheridan scheming. Hate the character destruction of her but MW is really doing well right now and I am trying to forget how we got here and am just trying to enjoy what we have now. Good stuff there.

The production values were great today with Luis's jail scenes and beating and with the stalker scenes. I loved the lighting and look of those scenes.

Could care less about Kay/Miguel. Take them out of the show and I would be overjoyed. They are the worst part right now along with Fox.

With the exception of Fox/Kay/Miguel, I am officially...BACK ON THE PASSIONS BANDWAGON!!! B)

This episode and the past month or so is good enough for me to say that without reservation.

Oh, dear GOD you are so right about the production values. I can't believe I didn'tmention that!!

And guess what PLAYERS?! I GOT THIS ONE ON TAPE!! Thanks to Rion, I have it on high grade, "KEEPER" tape!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. yes!!! Score!!!! ahhaahhaahhahahahahahahahahah!!! HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL, yeah, baby!! A "Passions"episode to treasure forever! (Especially after I get it burned to DVD).

Anyway, a couple of other things:

1. I think it's Pretty, but how's this for a theory: what if Pretty is BLACK?! No one said, specifically, she's white. Bear with me now. What if Valerie/Vincent is actually Pretty? And Pretty is actually the Evian "child"because Eve didn't REALLY have a son, but a DAUGHTER?! Or hell, what if she had a he-she and didn't know it?! I just findit really bizarre that the show wouldhave TWO he-shes, andthere are strong hints that Val/Vincent are one person.

I don't know. I'm getting strange vibes here. But I agree about the "Whatever's under there isn't pretty" line. I think it's actually JER's ironic way (or so he thinks) ofSECRETLY saying IT IS PRETTY!!!!!

Anyway,

2. Something was strangely HOT about Luis cowering in fear from the big guy! Damn, I was more turned on watching him in fear than watching him OWN that son ofa bitch.

3. I hope JER gives us a payoff and that EVIL guardis BRUTALLY murdered.

I also have to give kudos to whoever is playing the stalker. Whoever it is is doing a prett damn good job, especially today. The stalker is truly one sick, twisted, sadistic nutjob but you can't help but sympathize with him/her because it's clear whoever it is was hurt deeply and has been screwed up ever since.

I really liked the Ivy and Sheridan scenes today. The interaction felt realistic and just right. Ivy was not ranting at Sheridan or trying to intimidate her. She truly was trying to help Sheridan see the light and to redeem herself. I loved how they talked about various aspects of their lives.

It harkens back to Tuesday's episode when Ivy warned Fancy about letting her love for Luis make her like Sheridan. At the end of today's episode, Ivy said that Fancy has the same look as Alistair.

I understand JER is setting up the Sheridan and Fancy battle: Crane versus Crane but doing silly things like this to be near Luis is nothing new for Fancy. Hello, she joined the police academy to be near him. She 'disguised' herself as a stripper to be his backup. How is dressing in a silly wig and glasses any more over-the-top and Crane-like than those things? Ah, well. I doubt anything's going to come of it until DirecTV time.

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • In case it is of interest to anyone here, I have digital copies (computer files, mp4 etc.) of all of the episodes. And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.

    • I decided this primetime soap deserved it's own thread as the Primetime soaps thread is very cluttered and why shouldn't NBC's Lorimar soap mot have a chance to shine? In doing a deeper dive into the second season ratings I was surprised to see that FR actually had an uptick in the ratings when NBC moved it to 9pm Tuesdays beginning March 82. I'd always assumed this move was a desperate one as NBC were running short of programming and had given up on the show, deciding to let the final episodes play out and be hammered by 3's Company  and CBS Movie. But the numbers paint a different story. In it's 10pm slot up against Hart to Hart, which regularly finished in the Top 20, FL premiered in 53rd place and placed in the 40's and 50's as the season continued. But come January 82 the numbers surged a little now moving into the 40's hitting #43 in Feb. Hart to Hart was #11 Then in March Bret Maverick was moved to 8pm with FR @9. First week 16th March FR #47 15.1/24 3's Company #3 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #60 Not great but #2 in it's timeslot March 23 FR #44 15.6/25 3's Company #4 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #33 So even with a stronger movie on CBS FR's numbers went up. March 30 FR #31 16.6/26 3's Company #9 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #56 Best rating/position yet Tues April 6 pre empted Tues April 14 FR #36 16.0/26 3's Company #5 Too Close for Comfort #11 CBS Movie #59 Maintaining previous week's numbers Tues April 21 FR #33 15.6/24 3's Company #3 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #60 Numbers down a little (reflecting general spring downturn) but best ranking of the season so far Tues April 28 FR #35 15.1/23 3's Company #9 Too Close for Comfort #6 CBS Movie #42 Tues May 4 FR #27 15.2/24 3's Company #5 Too Close for Comfort #4 CBS Movie #41 Season finale and highest position of the season. Looking at those numbers I wonder why NBC cancelled the show? They had very few hits and here was a show that was holding it's own and moving up in the rankings in a tougher timeslot. And being a serial, the storylines could continue to build the following season. And I'm sure the desirable W18-49 demo was good. Some might argue that CBS were shower weaker movies, but even so, soap viewers are pretty loyal. I guess Grant Tinker arrived at NBC and wanted a classier look but there was room for FR on the schedule. I mean, the following season Knight Rider,Powers of Matthew Star and the A Team arrived so there was still room for more populist fare. Flamingo could have stayed at 9pm-the replacement Gavilan bombed (surely FR would have done better} or moved back to 10pm. The following Jan NBC had a hit with A Team Tues 8pm. Had Flamingo followed it, it might have really taken off. As it was they tried Bare Essence, which flopped. Oh well,it was not to be...
    • Always, in every way, Cass/Wally/Felicia foundational to my viewing. And, I think if we look at the aftermath of the disastrous 90 minute show that we find too many pockets of some kind of lost time at the show plus way too much of change-ups in exec & writing leadership and of course we also reach the first time it becomes notable that NBC wants to get rid of the show so they can put a new soap they own in the timeslot.
