SEATTLE, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Job responsibilities, school, errands, and other daytime activities will no longer come between soap opera fans and their favorite dramas because SOAPnet has launched for Comcast's digital cable customers in Western Washington and Spokane on Channel 158, the company announced today.

SOAPnet -- "the new way to watch soaps" -- lets viewers tune into daytime dramas during the evening hours, delivering ultimate viewing convenience and a comprehensive lineup that boasts same-day episodes of "The Young and the Restless," "All My Children," "One Life to Live," "General Hospital" and "Days of Our Lives."

With the network's 24-hour schedule, SOAPnet fans can also revisit popular primetime classics like "Melrose Place," "Beverly Hills 90210," and "Dallas" as well as former daytime shows "Port Charles," "Ryan's Hope," and "Another World." On April 9, "The O.C." and "One Tree Hill" will debut on the SOAPnet line-up. The channel's original programming gives soap fans an all access pass to the most popular stars and storylines, with the reality series, "I Wanna Be A Soap Star," "1 Day With ... " and "Soapography," a behind the scenes look into the lives of popular soap stars.

"Comcast is committed to meeting the diverse and unique programming demand of our customers. We are thrilled to enhance our lineup with the launch of SOAPnet, which is among the most requested channels by our customers," said Tom Pierce, vice president of sales and marketing for Comcast in Washington State. "The addition of SOAPnet enhances our robust entertainment lineup and delivers more choice to our customers."

SOAPnet is part of Disney ABC Cable Networks Group, and is managed by Disney-ABC Television Group, a division of The Walt Disney Company.
