I'm still working on the official SON Dream Ballot. Please get your votes in- I'd like the responses to truly represent the ENTIRE body of posters here at SON. We have about 15-20 responses so far. For your vote to be heard, post your DREAM BALLOT

HERE!!!!

Like I said, I'm doing it like the SOW editors used to do- vote as if you yourself are voting for the Emmy nominations this year. Prejudices are WELCOME! :)

Editors, Admin & Mods- I ESPECIALLY would like to hear from you guys, since you are the 'editors' of SON if you will. Any registered member can vote, whether by posting in the thread or PMing me. Happy Voting!

It does not. If you want to only vote in certain categories, that's fine. I'm asking for 5 choices in each acting category (I believe that's how many are voted for...) and 4 in the Best Writing & Drama Series Category. No less than 3 and no more than 8 will be acceptable. But try to keep it close to 4 or 5.

Here's a SNEAK PREVIEW to whet your appetites:

---Best Show is pretty much down to 4 shows, unless 1 show has a huge resurgence in the next week

--Best Lead Actor is a close race- two actors are on pretty solid ground, and 5 others are in extremely close contention for the other 3 spots.

---Best Lead Actress is almost too close to call. A few actresses are ahead, but the others are nipping on their heels. It's a race between 8 actresses, with four fairly ahead of the others, but not nearly far enough to call any of them a shoe-in. Stay tuned...

---Best Supporting Actor is another pretty close race. No actor is the clear favorite here, unlike the lead categories. There are 10 different actors that all feasibly could make it in there, 3 of which have a small but decent lead over the others.

---Best Supporting Actress is a lot more concentrated than I expected. Usually, this is the toughest race to call. But the SON Dream Ballot has 3 clear front-runners, and 2 more that aren't far behind. There are 3 actresses that have the numbers to possibly upset, but it looks pretty sewn up as of right now.

----Best Younger Actor is another category that's pretty clear. 2 guys here are absolute locks, receiving more votes thusfar than any other pre-nominees. There are two other guys who are clearly ahead of the pack and another one with a slightly lesser lead. Only 2 potential spoilers, but it doesn't look good for them.

----Best Younger Actress has one actress that is a lock, tying one of the guys in Younger Actor, but not having quite as many as the other. Another actress pretty much has her spot secured, and 3 others are looking pretty solid. This category only has one potential spoiler, but she has a real shot.

So if you haven't voted yet, YOUR vote could be the one that tips the scale in favor of your faves!

    • Yes. And I assume he met Mary Ellen Stuart at GL.
    • That's an odd coincidence. Yeah, Roger would turn anything he could to his advantage. At the time, he's just taking the pictures to bank leverage over Reva, Billy or the Lewises.  I'm kinda squeamish about 1986 episodes myself. I'd love to hear the original version of Ross/Vanessa/Dinah, but the Cain story is bad, and I don't want Billy and Vanessa to break up.
    • Eeek. I didn't know this either! I will say, though, even though they skimmed over a lot of Roger's past, I will give them props for not trying to turn him into a hero. Yeah, I was hoping we would get more 1986 episodes than were available on YT before, but now I'm wondering if I really want to see that.
    • That's what Julie Hanan Carruthers is doing for BTG at the new studio in Atlanta, but JHC is credited. And @errol said JHC is working in a nonproduction capacity at Y&R.
    • I remember when the whole Missy Reeves controversy started in 2012.  She tweeted support of a business that had made homophobic statements. Greg Rikaart (who was on Y&R back then) publicly called her out on it, but was willing to reach out and speak with her. Article here: https://greginhollywood.com/greg-rikaart-talks-about-his-twitter-war-with-fellow-soap-star-melissa-reeves-over-anti-gay-chick-fil-a-73139 That being said, ten years later, on DAYS, in 2022, when they had they double wedding of Leo/CraigWesley and Gwen/Xander, Jack and Jennifer came to the wedding.  At that time, Missy Reeves was only intermittently available for DAYS. Jennifer was living "in Boston" and Cady McClain and Missy were each intermittently appearing as Jennifer, on the specific occasions when the show required a Jennifer to appear. Missy wasn't on contract and she could have said no. But she chose to appear as Jennifer for the gay wedding of Greg Rikaart's character.   So... I mean... I would assume they reached a détente behind-the-scenes. Missy still has her belief system but there's that.
    • That was one of the best grandslam finals.  Alcaraz comes all the way back down 2 sets to 0, and three match points in the 3rd set, to win it in a 5th set tie-break.  And the quality of play was excellent - so many great shots.  What a battle!
    • Indeed. I may try to watch it in full sometime, but not anytime soon... Mark played Sean Baxter for a few episodes when Courtney married Andy. Burke was either on Broadway or at OLTL at that time, I suppose.
    • Well, Josh was a horndog. LOL Yep. It was one of the first really weird things Reva did with her PPD. She became obsessed with the idea that Dylan and Sam should get married. Sam was only 17, and needed her parent's permission. Reva helped them leave town so they could go to a neighboring state where Sam was old enough. Ross, Billy and Josh stopped them, then Sam went to India to try and persaude Justin. Reva followed her and didn't tell Josh she was going. While Reva was gone, Josh advertised for nannies, and Harley applied. He ended up hiring someone else. But when Reva returned, she hired Harley because (in her weird mental state) she wanted someone she could trust with the kids (because she feared Josh was trying to get rid of her and that Vanessa wanted the children.). After Reva starts treatment, she asks Harley to stay until she's stronger because she's good with the kids. At the party, Reva starts going off the rails, insulting Justin and Josh hauls her to a private dining room to ask WTF. Reva starts confronting him about the "affair" with Vanessa, and he realizes she is weird. He locks her in the dining room and frees Mindy and Van from the ladies room (where Reva has locked them in). Van starts telling him that Reva attacked her and needs help.  Reva escapes out the window of the dining room and goes back to the party, climbs onto a table and starts a striptease. Josh gets her to stop, takes her home and after filling Ed in, decides to go to the doctor the next day. Reva then takes off and spends days running around town, coming on to a guy she thinks is Billy, Billy, Hamp, Frank and Roger.  Roger takes her to his apartment and takes nude pictures of her, which he tries to blackmail Billy with. He wants the deed to the land the Towers is on in exchange for them. (Billy had been left the deed by a sweet old lady who lost her home in the 5th street fire. Roger had stolen the deed from her before she died. After Roger took those pics of Reva, she saw him hide them, and took an envelope from the hiding place. She didn't realize she'd taken the deed and not the pictures.)  Anyway, Billy and Vanessa trick Roger into burning the pictures, claim the deed and at the Towers opening reveal that Billy owns the land and therefore the Towers. That's what led to Roger and Alex's breakup and Roger and Mindy's affair. Mark Lewis was on ATWT? 1986 is not a good year, storywise. No bueno. Muy no bueno.
    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
