I see slight improvement on this show I hope it continues.

I like seeing more balanced airtime especially for vets like Viki, Dorian, Bo, Clint Asa coming back Lindsay on again, Nora soon too, I wish RJ was back though.

Do you see an improvement? What else needs to happen? One thing is the pacing of stories, they need to move along more.

It's hard to say. .

The stories are lackluster & repetitive. The hsow is heavy handed in its obsession to shove John and Spencer as its centerpieces at the expense of creating a truly ensemble cast.

I'd like the show to stop forcing characters that aren't working like Paige and Antonio.

I'd like to see Todd/Evangeline and Nash/Jessica.

I think it's fine, and I commend them for making changes.

Truthfully, I never had any major problems other than the almost deliberate destruction of Blair and the fans' reaction to it, which is not entirely a fault of the show, and the heavy focus on Antonio, John, Spencer, and Paige while disrespecting Kevin and Kelly.

As far as I'm concerned, the problems I had have been rectified, and I am seeing plenty of the people I like. I can't forgive them for what they did to Dan and Heather, but like Christina said, it's my show. I love most of the characters and actors, and it certainly appeals to me more than any other soap opera.

You can already see slight changes in the show... and I have a feeling by the summer/fall, if all continues to go in the same direction, the show will start to look like it did back in the days; before the John McBain/Antonio Vega hour (which is the start of the downhill slide for me.)

It is mixed. There is some improvement, but since it had so many problems, it is going to take a long time to fix it - and in fixing some they reate new ones.

Pacing is still an issue, but it isn't just slowness. How much can Blair take in a short period of time? Finding she was pregant, falling off the roof, losing the baby, now the heart infection, with a lot in store. It looks laughable even on paper. It doesn't take into account Blair is not exactly at the height of her popularity either. And what is coming up looks like Dena is back to her fascination for the unpalatable.

Although they may be giving some older characters more airtime leading into sweeps, many of them suffer from neglect or from the propping they've given to other characters. It's hard to fathom Lindsay setting her cap for Bo right upon breaking up with RJ (without Nora involved somehow).

They are still hanging a lot of story on new, untried characters - Tate, Miles, and new Marty. Spencer's impending demise leaves a huge hole. And the balance may shift back post sweeps. It's not like all of ABC Daytime has been changing hugely.

    • Wasn't there talk of bringing back Dan Kennicott at some point?  Like, sometime during the late '90's or early '00's?
    • Cliff was Logan's protégé, from the time he was a legal clerk up and until he became ADA. I think you have to have seen Deborah's father for that relationship to make sense, it is very Oedipal.  Mr. Saxon was a charming mobster and was briefly involved romantically with Geraldine.
    • If the actors in question had studied Agnes Nixon's character naming conventions, they could've saved themselves a lot of disappointment. In Pine Valley, there's no way that Wally is going to win in a romantic entanglement with Sean.  Just as Dan Kennicott was never going to be as intriguing as Benny Sago. She was more subtle than Bill Bell, and I can't be certain she even personally named all of these men.  But there is a pattern to be studied. Cliff Warner wasn't as emotionally driven as his name would suggest, but we knew Sean and Linda meant trouble before they even appeared on-screen.
    • There's also an audio-only clip on YT where Gail lashes out at Monica after learning she had had an affair with her late husband (not knowing or understanding, of course, that, in fact, he had raped Monica).  I remember listening to that years ago and thinking, "Wow, now I see why Douglas Marland enjoyed writing for her!"
    • It would be so CAMP if she just showed up dressed like this to the hospital or a Dupree family function and pretended to be Nicole

    • It's still so wild to see Jake Weary all grown up when I still remember when his mom was pregnant with him (on GL, and IRL).
    • I agree.  Of course, I haven't seen any of her work on DAYS or LIAMST, but I have seen her stuff on other shows (SFT, GH, LOL, FC and KL) and I think she was very, very good.
    • Yup, i thought it was Adamson. Backtracking...I love that Kristina knows now. Her smug disrespectful attitude toward Alexis was pissing me off. If not for the blackmailing Alexis part I would be rooting for Ric. This a been a decent sweeps period for GH, I'm liking the stories right now. Good thing I can watch third party GH clips online to keep up because Beyond The Gates is keeping attention at 2PM. It's making me miss my days of living in a 3pm GH market.
    • I always thought it was a bit odd that they brought in the brother and sister of a character who had been killed off ages before, and who was the wife of a character no longer on the show (Jeff). They were really dull. I would think the reason he hated playing Dan was that he was Brooke's plaything while she was waiting around for a more exciting lover. Just like Wally, he was portrayed as a dullard and a bust in the bedroom. Many, many moons ago, I saw Kelly on Broadway in the play Deathtrap. He played the role Christopher Reeve played in the movie. I remember recognizing him from the show and thinking, wow, he's a way better actor than I thought he was! He probably had a good theatrical career after soaps.
    • This. The 1994 telecast had some of my favorite winners with Zaslow finally getting his due, Melissa Hayden, and all three major players in the Marty rape storyline getting recognized (HBS, Haskell, Howarth).
