Le Grande Dame of Daytime -Loving Jeanne Cooper

  • Member

You gotta love Le Grande Dame of Daytime, The Young and the Restless   Jeanne Cooper   . It's astonishing at 77 years old Jeanne still has the energy, motivation, and fantastic acting styles she has had years ago. Her onscreen chemistry with her long-standing rival, now daughter, Jill Abbott(Jess Walton) has provided Jeanne with BRILLIANT work over the years, and she's always delievered the goods. Not to mention the rival story-telling between Katherine/Jill has made Y&R soared in the ratings for over three decades, which was such a shame when TPTB made them related. Still whether their friends or foes these two are undeniably one of THE best duo in daytime history. She has also garnered herself a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Jeanne Cooper still is, and will always be a class act in television.

Kay and Jill are destroyed for me ever since they became mother and daughter. Talk about characters going soft.

I agree, but they apparently WILL undo that :D

Ever since they made the two mother and daughter, Jill and Kay have been stuck. And we can all tell it was mistake now...when they were enemies there's just so much potential there.

I doubt they're going to undo that now Hartless...BUT you never know with JS!

I LOVED them as enemies and LIKE them as mother/daughter. I think there is TONS of storyline potential with them being mother and daughter, but TPTB can be vey limited at times. I say bring back Nina!

Long Live THE Queen!

Quite simply, she is a force. She is sort of underrated if you ask me. I love watching her on the screen ... she burns with a fire from within.

^I agree right now she is pretty underrated, but take any vintage Jeanne Cooper stuff from the past and she is a Goddess. Hopefully JS will realize that part of the main success of Y&R has been because of Jess Walton and Jeanne Cooper, and will once again use them as lead characters and not props for dull characters/stupid storylines(ELLIOT UGH!!!!!!!)

Thanks for stopping in razor, she IS divine!

I loved her scenes opposite Flannery on B&B, she was great. But I LOVED her scenes this week with Jill, when she comforted her at the Atlethic club and then Jill did a 180 and called her a miserable old bat, and she was like "this is the Jill I know and love," LOL great scenes.

GO COOPER!!!!!!!!!!

Just popping in to show my appreciation for JC again! Damn this lady is DIVINE! Here's two clips of Jeanne in action, very powerful. One with Ashley Bashioum(sp?) ex-Mac and from her intervention in 2004.
