  1. See, I loved her with Adam and Dimitri! Especially her back and forth with David Canary, she showed that she still had claws. I hated that both pairings were sidelined for Trevor. She also had two runs with Jeremy, once when she came on, and another in the early 90's before being thrown into Trevor's orbit. Her marriage with Palmer was also a pretty popular pairing as I recall. She was like a caged bird in a gilden cage.
  2. ....and of course JW's run at Santa Barbara was part of his abandonment of Kristina Wagner and their marriage the first time. It was clearly not a good time for Wagner professionally or personally:
  3. I know that this was a well recorded incident. I believe Kate left on maternity leave and the Producers came up with this idea. Based on the collected mail, it was decided who would stay and who would go. James and Kate were forced to work together in the next weeks in some of the most passionate Natalie/Trevor moments with the conclusion of the Carter Jones story, ending with Trevor rescuing Natalie from a fire in their home. I do not know why people were so enamored by Kiberd and Trevor. He was getting billing as top star of AMC with much press and screentime. Then, as soon as Collins was gone and the Natalie recast fizzled, it was clear that Kiberd was not leading man material. Kiberd had contributed to his undoing as Trevor would not have a successful romance or popular front burner storyline. His hubris had been his own undoing with AMC as he would not have as popular a screen partner, man or woman, since Collins. I wonder if the animosity was ongoing as Kiberd and Collins never shared 1-on-1 scenes in any of Collin's returns as Natalie. Unlike Kiberd, Natalie had multiple popular pairings and floated through the canvas seamlessly. She started out as the spoiler in the Jeremy/Erica romance, then phased through the Cortlandt, Marick, and Chandler family storylines. To me, Collin's equity to the show was clear.
  4. Yes, age has treated that man well. LaMura was always so stunning because of those beautiful doe eyes.
  5. This is quiet a risque promo for a mainstream soap opera:
  6. Ever since finishing Harding Lemay's book, I have really wanted to get into Another World. It is hard to find a starting point. I was wondering, did Jamie Frame and Dennis Carrington keep their close friendship over the years. I hate it when Soaps loose out on building on childhood relationships as young characters are SORASD at different rates.
  7. Ooo.... I love the idea of Natalie and Jackson. They had a mild flirtation when he represented her in her divorce from Palmer, and she was a bit down and out loosing any claim to the Hunter Estate and Palmer being less than generous his their settlement. Natalie was ready to start a humble life, when she began to rekindle her flame with Jeremy. Through it all, they did give significant airtime to a growing friendship with Jackson. Despite the fact that Kate had put on some weight, she was still very much beautiful. The show did the most they could to make her look frumpy and almost unrecognizable. Here is a picture from the People special edition hardcover book. You can see that with a little makeup and comb through the hair, Ms. Collins was still a beautiful woman:
  8. I guess Joey has long been a ham, even before Mr. Goldin's run as his final portrayer: I believe this is from Jenny and Greg's wedding.
  9. That is when I fell in love with Kate Collins, in all her 80's entitled beauty. I think people did not realize how "odd-looking" Kate was for daytime. She was much taller than the other ladies on the show, full-figured and curvey. Her face was so stark, with sharp features and beautiful eyes. I still think she was one of the most beautiful women on TV. Here are some photos from that time. I love the red outfit, but her hair is fabulous in the purple: I would have loved for Kate to stick around. Frankly, she had so much more storyline potential than Kiberd ever did. I could see her eventually finding her way back to Dimitri, maybe even pit-stopping with a romance with Edmund along the way. When they did "dress" Janet up in Kate's 2006 run, you could see the beauty was still there. There was a seen with Janet and Erica at the docks where Kate acted very Natalie-like mannerisms wise.
  10. It is so sad to see how much Sheree has lost, she has really lost everything : her home, her job, her dignity. In the first season, you almost by default sided with her because she came off as pretty rationale. Nowadays, she seems like a dillusional diva with a lion's mane.
  11. Here is another fun photo of Janet and Natalie, Kate Collins at her finest:
  12. Oh, the days when a red sequin dressed was considered formal wear. Drake was so "soapy" in that ad; oh, how I have tired from his one schnick.
  13. Thanks for sharing those wonderful OLTL episodes around Max's departure. I remember watching around that era. There was a lot of bad press going on because long-running characters and actors like Max, Gabrielle, Al, Hank, Rae, Renee and even Sam were being dropped from contract to retain the bevy of younger actors. I am happy that he got a formal goodbye, which is more than could be said for many veteran performers in his shows on other soap operas. To me, it was clear that there was still so much for Max to do. Alas, so is the curse for aging pretty boys.
  14. OMG, look at that lighting!! Soaps have never looked that good.
  15. My favourite picture of Dr. Dorian Lord, reminiscent of Ms. Ruth Warrick:
  16. Look at the undeniable passion in this photo: John Callahan was such a cutie. I think he, like so many men, began gaining wait after they got married. He was still handsome at the end of the AMC run, but a little time at the gym would have benefitted him greatly. Another classic photo of Mr. Callahan:
  17. Man, I loved Brooke and Edmund. Maria who? Adam who?
  18. Some of my favourite shots of Ms. Barr as Pine Valley's most tortured soul: Vintage, showing off her youthful elegence and edgy attitude Mid-90's sexy, but classy.... no one wears a white shirt and jeans better
  19. When I spoke to Bill Timoney about Perry Stephens, the emotions were very palatable. They were such good friends ffrom Perry"s time as a under 5 at AMC. It sounded like he was very loved and that many miss him. How did he pass?
  20. OMG, when is the Atlanta season going to be over? The ship has sailed for this part of the franchise.
  21. I love love love Roark's hair here. It is so sexy, I think these longer looks are coming back in (at least on the East Coast). I actually love the whole look, very new england prep.
  22. I always have to wonder, with so much time to prepare an actresses' maternity leave, how does production still necessitate a recast.
  23. oooo... I would love to see this. Tracey was such a compelling actress at that time. I would love to see what someone else did with the Lauren role. What prompted her departure?
  24. Isn't this a fun "caption this" photo: For as straight-laced as old man PC was, he sure knew how to picka kooky bride.
  25. Just because... No argument, not only were Esta and Cam so gorgeous together, their onscreen love story was truly love in the afternoon.
