  1. Brad's taking off his shirt like Vanessa Chamberlain naked under her fur coat. Remember the one where Nikki had on that green pageant dress?

I'm not a Gleek, but I just wanted to add that at least four people on my Facebook said last night's episode was their last.
  3. I do not. First time I ever saw TH was Soapdish.
  4. "It's still REAL to me, dammit!"
  5. It's all love! xo

  7. Honey, you made the Knots typo.
  8. Teri Hatcher
  9. I was just watching the clip of where Bianca learned of Travis' death and circumstances be damned it was like the screechiest whiniest acting I've ever heard.
  10. NP had an almost Lemay-like quality about her, her work reminded me of a small bird or moth. She certainly felt like a young actress who'd have a career in the New York theatre, which she did in fact.
  11. LMAO on my way to hell with you. ITA, Lena could have been that person. I think Susan is particularly beautiful here, look at some of the closeups:
  12. A glamorous bitchy lesbian could have been a lot of fun and I've actually suggested in the past that Bianca date an older woman like that, perhaps a rival cosmetics exec of Erica's. I don't like how they nicened up Kendall either, and I felt that was more in response to Greenlee already occupying that spot. Gina Gallagher was a very convincing spoiled brat, she always had that look on her face like something stank. You left out transitional Bianorexica, that's where we saw the real change to Bianca as sweet, unglamorous, and un-Erica.
  13. Let alone being Erica Kane's daughters, Bianca and Kendall had no shortage of storyline possibilities given their upbringings outside of Pine Valley (Bianca, with two character we were already familiar with).
  14. I also agree about Junior, the cute little curly-haired kid was ALWAYS with Dixie and good-natured. When Jesse McCartney took over, I do remember them giving him a snarky, "I'm Adam Chandler's son!" line once, which was sort of an, "Oh boy, here we go..." moment for me. But I guess that was just meant to be an moment. I was in college and didn't watch the show much while Junior was recast I guess twice after that pre-Jacob young, but from what I gather, the jerkiness didn't start until Babe cheated on him.
  15. Wait, wow, so that Lake Elizabeth story is what inspired the Maryanne Carruthers (<<Firefox wants me to change that word to "Catheters") story? The Simpsons did a similar episode, I'm forgetting what movie was the original source material.
  16. Absolutely! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with me, I really enjoyed reading that. I am particularly fond of the paragraph I've quoted, I totally agree. They definitely gilded the lily, turning Eric into an all-out monster and it was not nearly as dramatically satisfying as aspects of the Victor Lord story were (before he became even more of a caricature). Right or wrong, I felt like these added details of Eric's sordid past with his daughter were nabbed from Victor/Viki for all that that story had provided for One Life. I resented that, as a fellow fan from the WoST days resented AMC nabbing for Erica Rachel's dream of living in the house she walked by after school every day coming true. Doesn't Erica have enough? A bigger choice is not necessarily a stronger choice, and in Eric's case, being a jerk was enough. From what I've read, Gerald Davis was an oily con and that worked well for his relationship with Rachel and Pammy on AW/Somerset, probably more akin to Eric's story of betrayal in '89 (though I think Gerald lacked Eric's polish and was more obviously a rat).
  17. Well, there's an idea. I've said this a million times, but I used to refer to SMG's Sydney as "the Erica of this show" when she was on Swans Crossing so I always appreciated the casting connection. What bothers you so much about the rape Khan? Gosh, that sounds like an awful question, but you know what I mean...
  18. Ellen Holly, stunning. Look at her and then think of Robin Strasser's Rachel and Susan Lucci's Erica (and later Roya Megnot's Ava) and their own relationships with their single mothers and absentee fathers. I would love to ask Agnes Nixon if Carla shared some of that archetype's DNA.
  19. That is hilarious! What a great clip, the good ol' days. That AMC package was wonderful, so many senior faces showcased. Was that Ceara Erica backhanded? I think so. The hair kinda looks like Donna but I know Erica never got into it with her.
  20. Yeah, like when Kendall smoked for example, I wasn't sure if they were going for "teen bad girl" or "older than you think young woman". Plus, there must be rules about a 16 year-old just taking a room in a boarding house, I don't recall how (if?) that was handled. She could have been an un-emancipated runaway minor for all Myrt knew.
  21. LOL, it took me a second to decipher which word you used to get the: [!@#$%^&*] Yeah, Christopher Lawford imo looked a good ten years older than the previous Charlie who dated Erica. Do you think they should have just fudged with "real time" and let Kendall remain a teen? I mean, with SORASing, I feel like they made too big of a deal out of it trying to convince us she was 23 or whatever.
  22. This is sad, painful, and uncomfortable to watch. I miss when these shows made me *feel*. Meanwhile, notice SL pre- and post-nose management in the '93 and '94 clips.
  23. Exactly, dig dig dig deeper, a lot of untapped stuff, but see, that's not "plot", that's character, and all too often the soaps haven't been interested in that. Those clips are great. I loved how the show looked then, Linden (with Jeremy's portrait of Erica still hanging above the stairs), Erica's (and even Opal's) clothes...
  24. I love your idea ellabelle. Yeah, I've always been fond of the idea of tapping into less traditional family ties on a soap, e.g., cousins, aunts/uncles, opposed to long-lost twins or insta-siblings (which OLTL just *loves* to do... on the other hand, in the past the show gave us Viki's aunt Gwendolyn, cousins Richard and Powell). I think there's the potential for more shaded, psychological, character driven writing that way. I always find it interesting when I look at my own family, contrasting the way my mother and her siblings are to the way their different sets of first cousins are. I really loved the original Kendall s/l the same way I loved OLTL's DID s/l. IMO, that type of dark family drama never gets old. It can certainly get ruined with a bunch of rewrites, but when done well, there's nothing like it. I would have kept more of Kendall's issues with Erica still bubbling just below the surface, even if in spite of herself. There came a point where it felt like Kendall had grown up with Erica forever, and sure, that *feels* nice, but maybe it would have been stronger dramatically if there were more unresolved issues there.
