  1. The silent scenes where Viki loaded Dorian into the trunk of her car, secured the scene, and drove away to the cabin were so haunting and great. Of course that wasn't really Viki but Jean, but we didn't know that yet. The show was SO good then.
  2. With AMC and OLTL both, after their 25ths I tend to confuse the anniversary specials with the ten thousandth episode specials and the like. They had some slogan for thirty, or was it 35, and the three-zero/five was displayed in their graphics, like when giving the next day preview. Edmund gave the poem on one occasion and I want to say that was the thirtieth anniversary or the ten thousandth episode.
  3. I think this was his last appearance. I remember seeing ol' Lang another random time before this and I honestly that may have been in '92 or something and we made a big deal about seeing him. I just remember that he was in a turtleneck and blazer and he had gained weight, or at least looked fuller in the face. When I saw him on that Shelley Taylor Morgan/Michael Logan E! show he was rather thin, I think that's when he was sick. They talked about his Nobody Cares About Langley album.
  4. Carl, have you posted the segment where Daisy wistfully aks, "Do you remember...?" and they dissolve to commercial? I remember my mom being like, "Remember what??"
  5. Oh yes! She invented mirror Janet. I don't know if that Jeff/Mary episode was on WoST, Eric will remember. But WoST did have a partial early seventies episode in color. Yeah, I love that disco clip and I think the original music played was Staying Alive. Would love to see them grooving to the real thing. Erica kills me with the disco whistle. Eric, are you listening our local disco expert? What was the deal with disco whistles, how did they become a thing? Do forgive me if I mix anything up in reference to the anniversary episodes because I haven't fully rewatched yet, I'm working from memory... 17 years ago! I got the AMC coffee table book as a gag gift from a friend for Christmas, can you believe?? I guess I had it all of ten days when the first anniversary episode aired.
  6. LOL, Palmer takes a tumble... I love Cecily and Brooke bonding over Pheobe. Langley's guttural, "That's mye guhrl. THAT's mye guhrrrrrrl" is something I sometimes amuse myself with. Donna getting back with Chuck is something I don't remember/missed. When I think of Donna, I think of her and Benny and Emily Ann in their apartment.
  7. That's awesome. Sometimes it's those little pieces of business that nail a scene. Delia was talking about Dunaway and polanski which got me to Googlin' which led to a Charlie Rose interview where Faye was reminding me so much of Beverlee in the clip with Reva in the GL thread which got me to thinking of Joan and BAM this video is only a few days old. What a treat. Like, Joan is cool on her own, but Joan and Stephanie is just brilliant. Even if it's just a commercial, those are the to die for reunions fans love. They look great. I had been reading about Stephanie's two bouts with skin cancer a few weeks ago, I hadn't heard about that before.
  8. Yes, hence my "had been". Sorry for my awkward wording. The long hair took years off of her look, she looked too young to be Angie's mom. I totally took for granted how wonderful this 25th anniversary was. I've only watched a handful of soaps over the years, but I don't think this week of episodes can be touched. SO many returns and nothing is done halfway or cheap, just great...
  9. Yes, that's Pat and Nancy. That's the last time we saw them on the show, though Pat had been on Loving when Angie and Frankie first moved to Corinth.
  10. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/9006513/Joan-Collins-and-Stephanie-Beacham-reunite-for-Snickers-advert.html
  11. I wish I could remember who started that gossip thread a few years ago mentioning that Robin and Al used to be an item to which someone humorously remarked, "Lawd now I done heard it all..."
  12. God forgive me for lol'ing at this, but I only did because that is not the first time I have read someone make that comment about EH's acting. The fact is, she did struggle with alcoholism. I do not know if and how that manifest itself onscreen. She also trained at the Actors Studio in the golden age and she has a certain physical style that a lot of those actors had. EH's gestures are reminiscent of Geraldine Page's in particular.
  13. Thanks! I love how Erica takes that long beat, almost titilated. Here's more: http://www.youtube.com/watc!h?v=NV65QpGkWio&feature=related Brooke is so cute: "Oh! No! Uh-huh-huh. Hyyye. "
  14. Wow, really?? How fifties.
  15. The set up of the four of them dining al fresco like that is to die for. You could play these four indefinitely.
  16. Look how tan and coiffed Jack is in that clip! So funny when Erica screams, "What!?" at Livia and does Charity Rahmer hands.
  17. Aw, Brooke and Jack at the movies, that is so cute. My mom would often say, "See, I like Jack with Brooke." She preferred Dimitri for Erica. I think B&J did do it. Cheap, do you recognize Erica's yellow plaid from All About Erica when Brooke smacked the taste out of her mouth?
  18. I once had a meeting with another well-known NY CD who worked with Joan, and she said that the show felt that they needed fresher eyes and replaced her with Judy Blye Wilson in '91. JBW was over at OLTL and previously RH. Kelly Ripa was Joan's last big "famous" find, while SMG was Judy's first.
  19. I love that last pic of Ruth, Louis, and Julia.
  20. Martin was really big in '93 and we used to die when Erica would use one of his popular catch phrases on Kendall, telling her to "Save it!"
  21. " Oh Corvina, stop wailing awl the time." -Erica
  22. It was a leopard y'all, or as Corvina would say, "'Laypore".
  23. Nicole Orth-Pallavicini aka the last Melinda Cramer was the original Marissa Rampal.
  24. Before I knew that she had already been on the show, I thought she would have been good as Dorian's mother, but Maria's mother is of course a much better idea. Actually, age-wise, Chita might twirl and high kick us in the chins for suggesting she play either lady's mother.
  25. Tommy was also on The City but I missed his episodes. I saw him on a subway platform once, he is very tall and very tan and very dapper and he did the most elegant turn when he realized he was on the wrong side of the tracks.
