  1. LOL @all of the brunette Angelique comments because my typing fingers started itching the moment she popped up. I watched the bottom clip first and was surprised that a pic of her wearing that gothic dress she wore when she originally got wheeled in by Helga would make it to the opening credits. I guess I had forgotten that. But yeah, she was for the bulk of her run blond, the brown hair, I do not remember at all, and the color and style do absolutely nothing or her and frump up an otherwise attractive woman. They Laurel'd her. She could have been more of a glamorous threat to Erica. The last time remember Angelique was a few months I guess after she had let the show, and she made a phone call to Dimitri. She was blond again there.
  2. Ha, they do! And YES, I totally meant to comment on the tiger pic, that looks downright dangerous!
  3. That is without a doubt the best Erika Slezak interview I have ever read, maybe even the best period. Such great stories that usually family members are only privileged to hear. Thank you so much for sharing that. I must admit, I got a nice naughty laugh out of the turtle story. I remember the Saks in White Plains, it's been gone for a few years now. That Desdemona picture is beautiful.
  4. I don't think I'd ever read the full quote. When I read this last night I called her some unprintable names, I just don't understand how such words could make it past any sensible person's lips. If that was her attempt at PR to justify their actions in this"impossible situation" , she's doing it wrong. And frankly, I think they're idiots for not seeing how powerful of a story this could have been for Roger. Those scenes could have been some of the most powerful, dare I say legendary, scenes in soap history.
  5. "Cameltonia", OMG, Carl you slay me...
  6. Yeah, the Phantom of the Soap Opera s/l was years after Mona's death. The remodeled Linden debuted the day Erica came back from a business trip and discovered Mona, who had been house-sitting, had passed away in her sleep. I don't believe Erica ever sold the house. I remember her last scene there, she turned before heading out the door and cheerfully said, "Bye bye Linden!", as in "Bye for now" as she had closed down the house before to move in with her husband of the moment.
  7. Count Stovall, he was in that all-black production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof directed by Debbie Allen. He played Dr. Cal Cummings, who I didn't realize was Sharla's dad, nor do I particularly remember in general.
  8. I seem to remember her being friends mostly with Emily Ann. I do remember her in scenes at the Wallingford's with another young girlfriend and I'm trying to remember who that would have been at the time... Cecily or Hilary, I guess. The ages are kind of a blur to me. But this is the first thing I ever saw TA in.
  9. I don't remember Robin's original run, but as for her second and third runs, she was NEVER written for better than she was during this era. Such a fascinating and sophisticated woman with so many secrets and such hurt that she carried so elegantly.
  10. This is the black and white Tavern on the Green wedding. I'm saving this for later.
  11. Dorian's dialogue about being a physician and rationalizing and accidents and God's will is excellent writing, great subtext/actions/objectives. A pastor strangling a woman against the alter, brilliant.
  12. It's funny, but that made my eyes water in a way they didn't when I watched this back in high school. I think it was the Larry factor, and how a presence like his is missed, plus the Herb mention, Andrew getting so upset, and doctor Dorian knowing what Larry was about to reveal based on the medical terminology. I will always love Dorian's Independence day, they were so striking in the blue and red, especially when you'd think the colors would typically be reversed. There's a great photo set of them in those dresses, one where Dorian's winking at the camera. And yes, Alex is in white.
  13. Oh my G-d, you have an EXCELLENT memory Carl. I can't remember if I watched this on WoST or at the Paley Center or both.
  14. Thinking about that recast section makes me want seventies dvd sets. marcowuzmypimp has that episode with the all too brief glimpse of Claire Malis aka Rose Polniaczek.
  15. Is LL under the banner of The Conversation Forum, because that's the one I was talking about.
  16. They almost lost me with all those Ford pictures. That's funny, I got an invite to join that forum from another TV forum I post on.
  17. That's a very nicely written article. Very sad, too young. When Leslie Graves died, also too young and of AIDS-related illness, SOD only printed a blurb. It would have been nice if they had cast and crew share thoughts and memories like here.
  18. Thanks so much for sharing that dc11, I was very excited when I saw the episodes posted on YouTube and tried my best to keep up as I don't speak German. That's so neat that you were able to obtain the scripts. I was also very surprised that Tyger was widowed so soon, I think I had forgotten that from reading the TV Encyclopedia entry for the show years ago. I can't say that it was exactly "borrowed" from David Jacobs, but that was of course the original plan for Pam on Dallas, as Bobby would be killed and she'd have to fend for herself against Ava-like J.R. Bare Essence predates The Colbys, but reading what you shared about Ava reminds me an awful lot of Sable... Tyger as Jeff, Marcus as Miles, Margaret as Constance. I'd love to see at least one episode in English just to hear Jessica Walter do a southern drawl. I'm also interested in hearing how she got cast for this role. I can't help but think that her representation really pushed the fact that Esther Shapiro wanted her for Alexis through the casting grapevine. That would have been quite a feather in her cap at the time.
  19. I think she was too old for Angela.
  20. LOL at Erica's side eye at 7:33. If I wrote synopses for SOD, I would have titled this section Kendall Eats Her Hart Out. That lady's hat is stealing the scene.
  21. "She didn't even have the vocabulary to explain what had happened to her." That line struck me. She was always older than me, but in hindsight I can hardly believe how high and child-like SMG's voice was. Mona arranging for postcards to be sent from Europe?
  22. Erica looks really good here. Kendall and those damn neutral boxy blazers. When the clip first started, I thought that was An-Li #1 for a split second before I saw Lindsay. That was Taylor. The Mona/Nick stuff is priceless. This was when AMC was so good!
