AMC, AW, GH, LOVING, PC, OLTL, ATWT, Game shows, talk shows, a few primetime shows, but most daytime, not sure what else. The only thing I can imagine is that it was Fired Guy's Eff You to the fans. The scabs did well with conversation, dialogue, relationships, loved Julie's Once Upon A Time from real life ... What is bolded here, I'm not the only one to say this but I am not trying to be provocative, no, I am literally of this opinion. When I think of Brian Frons playing God in Santa Barbara & later Paul Rauch putting out a cigar on the floor of the sound stage I think we have clear examples of PTB intentionally showing disrespect either to the fans or possibly to the network.

Soaps also exist to entertain, to instruct, for escape, to illustrate & model behavior, to challenge attitudes or norms, ... And, in fact, I do see Shakespearean aspects in some soaps at some times. Just yesterday FB Memories presented me with an opinion I'd written about Carly, Kristina, Sonny, Nina & the Haunted Star 2 years ago yesterday & the action was driven by Shakespearean confusion & classic misunderstanding.

I enjoyed yesterday's show & I liked some things I do not normally. For example, Michael's conversation with Sonny. Great, excellent, I couldn't believe my eyes - and ears. Also Willow didn't bother me either. I have nothing to say about Drewfus. Anna being installed as the New (Again) Commish & her reading I'mJohn the riot act, YESSS, double down on that! Please no more very sad Anna! Carly & BLQ teaming up in business, delightful! Also what BLQ said about Nina leaving Ned holding the bag when he had a head wound & couldn't even defend himself from the charges, false charges. I like that Lois is being dressed differently.

Betty Corday seems to have been really sharp, smart, very knowledgeable about the show, other shows, advertising & also quite able to judge character & hire great people to do specific things since she couldn't do it all herself. If you read Ken's book or any articles where he is quoted, he gives a kind of sentimental lip service to the legacy of DAYS. He recalls being with his father when he chose the spinning globe as the logo and motif for ATWT & it sounds like its one of the proudest moments of his life. So maybe he peaked at 5. And we know how sad that is. Also that he stayed in awe of his father. I've been re-reading passages in his book & given what's come to light in the last year and half, it is so depressing I can't read much at a time. What you say about his actions is all true. If he had any kind of self-awareness he would settle this fast & rehire Ari & step down as EP, since he treats it like a figurehead anyway, and hire someone excellent to really be a showrunner. Then he could comfortably continue to be "the owner."

That would be true of any streamer with any show but especially a soap. Just comes with the territory.

Online there are always plenty of DAYS fans posting but not all are watching. I've also seen new fans but I doubt they'd be statistically significant. Anecdotal. The show has been in Peacock's top 5 plenty but it isn't right now.

IRL some people choose to have gravesites even without a body. It gives them a place to go to, to "visit", to put flowers. I'm sure tons of people do not because of the expense.
