    Shawn is Cook-ed!

As the blog has previously reported, the show is going to systematically phase out five or six characters in order to feature other and new storylines that have recently been backburnered. The blog is now announcing that Shawn is one of those characters. "Shawn really is a great character when in the right hands, and Cook is a capable actor, but it is rumored that the real show is re-casting, and the blog is also very interested in a re-cast."...says the writer. "The blog's goal all along has been to take the current DAYS and prove how good and can be while making realistic and believable changes. I want there always to be some congruency between the real show and the blog. So, some of the casting decisions the real show does will be the same on the blog. And this is one of those cases."

As for Shawn, "the character is going to be going through some major changes this month. His life will be turned upside down and inside out! And Cook will last air in late August/early September. He will be back in the fall. He will more than likely be played by the person DAYS has chosen to re-cast Shawn with, but anything is possible! Cook could be back if the re-cast does not impress! However, I have a feeling he will."

Shawn is just one of a bunch of characters who will be leaving the show in August and September in storyline dictated moves - only to be brought back in an exciting and riveting November Sweeps and December!

WHO'S GOING!? AND HOW WILL THEY LEAVE!

According to the writer of the blog, up to five very popular characters/actors might find themselves off the show....temporarily, that is! "The blog really is like a big stove right now! We're constantly moving things from the frontburner to the backburner and vice versa."...says the writer. "With Justin, Adrienne, Jo, Stephanie, Lawrence, and Jack coming on very soon, the Steve/Kayla story is going to be moved to the forefront. The Alan story will also be featured heavily throughout the month of August. Maggie and Lance will be coming back to Salem so that's another story that will be moved frontburner. Consequently, some of the stories have to be moved off the frontburners to make some room. And we will do this by sending some characters on their way for about two months until Novemember Sweeps." Hope, Abby, Celeste, Cassie, Shawn, Georgia, Belle, and Lexie are all names being bandied about as of right now. "We'll see!"

"The big stories of August and September will be Greta/Frankie/Melissa, Steve/Kayla, and Sami/Lucas/Alan. They're going to be the biggies!"...previews the scribe. "August is going to be amazing. Every episode is going to pack a huge punch. There's so much story to tell in every facet of the show right now."

Casting About: The show is looking to cast Jeremy Horton, the son of Mike Horton. Jeremy is a sexy, yet wholesome young man in his mid-twenties. He is a gentleman and a true Horton through and through! Suggestions are welcomed and encouraged!

Watch Out: On Friday, September 1st, a murder mystery is going to kick off as one of the show's baddies will bite the dust!

Oh, the possibilities: The blog has a daring and unique idea that would take DAYS back to its supernatural storytelling, but it is unsure whether it wants to tell the story. "It's definitely crazy and farout, and it will have fans freaking out and not knowing what the hell is going on! I am just not sure if I want to tell it though! We'll see."

Heads Will Roll!: Well, it's almost Sweeps Time again! And that can only mean one thing on the blog - pink slips! "It definitely is becoming a trend of killing or writing quite a few people off during sweeps, but it always works because it opens up so much story and propels the story further. And it definitely keeps fans interested and excited. At LEAST two people will meet some kind of end during Novemeber Sweeps. I can promise already that November Sweeps is going to be non-stop action and drama."

Beloved Character, Actor, Staple of the Show Let Go!

James Reynolds (Abe Carver), who has been with the show for almost 22 years, will last air this Friday, July 21st. The move is storyline dictated. "This is really hard. Of all of the cast-cutting I've done in the nine months of the blog, this is the hardest, and that says a lot because of the high caliber of the actors who were written out. This was really difficult. I went back and forth and back and forth and back and forth with the idea."...agonizes the writer. "I knew it was the right thing to do for the character and the story, but then I wanted the readers to happy and have Abe around, so then I'd switch back to keeping him on, and so on and so forth. It just came down to the fact that the story with Abe and Lexie has run its course, and Lexie is going to be a delicious villain on her own. Abe and Lexie cannot be reunited. She's wronged him way too many times now. It wouldn't be right or believable. Abe could have stuck around as a pillar of the show like Alice or just the resident cop, but that's just not fair if I don't plan on using him."

"So, it is with much regret that I have to inform that Salem will be without Abe Carver come this Friday. Of course, Abe can and most likely will be back sometime in the future. He has a lot of friendships and relationships that won't be forgotten. I don't want readers to get discouraged, however. I want them to know that when I make really hard decisions like this than they have to know the blog is going to be the best that it can be! These sacrifices ain't bein' made for nothing!"

The cuts will not end there. "I thought I had the cast in the place I wanted it, but I wasn't planning on writing for Stefano, Steve, and Kayla then. I am sticking with the plan to keep the blog at least somewhat on track with the real show so I had to bring them on. Not to mention, I really wanted to! Three people who are on the canvas right now will not be on the canvas after November Sweeps. One will be gone as early as the last week of August. The fans won't miss any of the three characters."....the writer says, confidently, but he teases...."The actors, maybe."

    The Phoenix Rises!

"Joe was recently let go from The Bold and The Beautiful. THEIR mistake! We would be a fool not to snatch him up."...says the writer. He will first air in August. He will be recurring. "We have some plans for Stefano, but nothing hugely concrete yet. Until we do, we want to keep him on recurring for a bit. The last time we saw Stefano he was parading around time with Wayne Northrop's face. We're going to establish that the old Phoenix is back, and we'll have him interacting with his children. But we don't want to do the same old Steffy stuff, so until we think of something unique and juicy, he'll be recurring."

    Stephanie Re-Cast!

As previously reported, Stephanie Johnson is coming to Salem in August on a recurring basis. But, we announced Shayna Rose would be taking on the role, as on the show. But there's been a change of plans. Lauren Ambrose of "Six Feet Under" will assume the role. "To be quite honest, I don't love Shayna Rose. She's not what I pictured as Steve and Kayla's daughter. So, we are just going to go with someone different. If it's a beautiful, red-headed bombshell with amazing acting chops that DAYS wanted, Lauren Ambrose is the girl for the role!" - Billie and Bo wonder if their prescence is helping or hurting Hope.
    - Celeste tries to comfort Lexie, but Lexie will have none of it. She tells Celeste that she wants nothing to do with her and says their entire relationship has been built on a lie. Lexie says she'll never forgive her.
    - Vivian informs Kate that she's here for revenge, but not on her. Viv says that hindsight being what it is, Vivian can see now that her beef with Kate never had anything to do with Kate, but everything to do with Victor.
    - Sami and Lucas have an emotional reunion with Will at his hospital bedside.
    - Paris/Kristen says that she thinks someone broke in and trashed the Penthouse! John has the police come and investigate. They say that there is no sign of a break-in.
    - Bo and Hope are given good news about Zach. But Hope is in a zombie-like state and doesn't register the news.
    - Kate asks Vivian what the hell she is talking about. She tells Kate that she is back in town for revenge on Victor for the way he treated her over the years. She can't remember why she ever loved such a cold-hearted old bastard. Kate informs Vivian that Shawn Sr. has recently passed and that Victor has been comforting Caroline. She fears that a reunion is in their future. Vivian says that it won't matter because she plans on bringing Victor to his knees.
    - Paris/Kristen vows the ultimate revenge on Marlena. She declares her love for John, but says that this plan/scheme goes far beyond that. She's not going to let her love for John cloud her judgement this time.
    - Alice and Mickey help Hope grieve.
    - Billie is taken aback by Liam's reaction to Mason's death. It seems like it is a mix of anger, fear, grief, and guilt. Billie tries to let it go, but she still can't shake the feeling that something is not right with Liam.
    - Vivian tells Kate that she used some of Ivan's left-over Lottery winnings to re-start Alamain International. Kate asks where Ivan is, and Vivian replies that he is still in Europe and that he wanted nothing to do with her revenge plans on Victor. Kate correctly guesses that Vivian is behind the plans to take down Titan. Vivian nods her head yes. Kate says that Vivian had everyone fooled since she just sold Victor back the 49% of her Titan Stock. Vivan counters that she also used that fortune to re-boost Alamain International. Not to mention, she says, that she wants nothing to do with Titan, financially, when it comes crashing down. Kate doesn't understand what any of this has to do with her. Vivian says that she wants Kate to join her company as the Vice President! Kate is floored.
    - Hope is surprised by Doug and Julie's surprise visit to help comfort her.
    - Celeste sees the Reaper disappear into thin air.
    - Paris/Kristen re-calls how she had to wait YEARS to put her plan into action that allowed her to escape from the Harem Prison that Susan sent her to. She also remembers how she found an obituary of Paris Snyder, was able to have a surgeon duplicate her face and how that completed her taking over, and re-applied for a birth certificate as Paris and was able to take over her identity.
    - Hope breaks down in the chapel with Billie. Hope opens up to Billie. Billie comforts her. Lexie interupts them. Lexie tells Hope that she should have kept her prissy, snobby son under a more watchful eye and it's HER fault all of thier children almost died tonight! Hope is horrified. Billie comes to Lexie's defense. Lexie tells Billie to back off. Lexie tells Hope that she has some damn nerve judging Lexie and condemning her for cheating on Abe. Lexie tells Hope to watch her back and exits. Hope breaks down in Billie's arms, but later Liam comes. Liam and Hope comfort one another.
    - Sami and Lucas demand Celeste say why she said Will was the one to die. Celeste says that she had a premonition of Will's lifeless body. She doesn't know what went wrong...unless....unless her prophecy was not intended to mean the car crash...Sami and Lucas worry that Celeste's premonition for Will has yet to come true!
    - Kate asks Vivian why she would trust her as V.P. of Alamain International. Vivian goes on to tell Kate that she knows Kate took over Titan when Victor had his stroke and made it soar to new heights. Vivian says her nephew, John, is a moron, and he could not possibly have been behind Basic Black's success. Then, when Kate joined Titan again, Basic Black went under. Vivian says that Kate is a good luck charm and a determined woman, and as much as she hates to say it, A.I.'s success hinges on Kate. Vivian also says that Kate has the power to steal Lucas, Billie, Austin, and Carrie away from Titan! But Kate again asks why Vivian would trust Kate with the Vice Presidency of the company and not be sure that Kate wouldn't sabotage Alamain. Vivian takes out a contract and signs it. She hands it to Kate. Kate is shocked as she reads the document outloud. It states that Vivian just signed Kate over 30% of the A.I. stock. Kate is floored. Vivian tells Kate if she has a vested interest in A.I.'s success, then she will work to make A.I. prevail. Kate says that she can't believe she's about to make a deal with the devil. Vivian says "Ditto! Now, let's do it! Let's make that old bag pay!" Kate throws Vivian around, puts the contract to Vivian's back, and signs it!

Recurring Role Cast with "I Wanna Be A Soap Star" Actress

Kelly McGarry of "I Wanna Be A Soap Star" fame has been tapped to play the recurring role of "Simone." Simone is described as a quirky, showstopping, unforgettable, witty vixen who is sure to leave a mark on our Salemites. Simone will first air this week as the niece of Ivan Marais, Vivian's partner-in-crime. "Ivan, unfortunately won't be returning, at least not yet, but Simone is the newly created role of his niece - and Vivian's personal assistant."...says the writer. "Vivian will be revealed as the person who is trying to take down Titan. Vivian and Simone and Alamain International are the start of a whole new corporate storyline that's going to be phenomenal for fans of the vets like Caroline, Victor, Kate, and Vivvy!"

As for the actress, the writer says..."Kelly is amazingly talented. She impresses me over and over and over, week after week after week on 'I Wanna Be A Soap Star.' I knew from the second I saw her perform that I had to write for this girl! The role of Simone is recurring for the forseeable future. The cast is jam-packed. But who knows what 2007 can bring?"

    THE BITCHES ARE BACK!

On Friday, July 7th, the blog revealed that two of the big returns this summer are Eileen Davidson and Louise Sorel! Kind of! "Eileen will be back. We needed her face for this BIG reveal, but when we see Kristen around Salem for the next few months, we'll be seeing the Michelle Stafford's face. November Sweeps will likely mark the end of Michelle's time on the show since her six month contract will be up, and Eileen will step into the role."...says the writer. "She's been posing as John and Marlena's baby nurse, Paris. John and Marlena are really in for it this time. As for Vivian, she's back for an undisclosed amount of time." Basically, if fans enjoy the story, she'll be staying. "The character of Vivian was amazing for five years, and then awful for her last few years. She will be restored to that vicious and lovable bitch she once was! Vivian is not going out like the victim on my watch. She deserves the chance to go out on top! She's back for revenge, baby! And she's going to get it! The bitches are back! These are two very different stories, and they have nothing to do with another, but they are also very similar. Both Kristen and Vivian are NOT back for John and Victor's hearts, but for their heads - on silver platters! Hell hath no fury like Salem's witches scorned!"

The Days Of Patch and Kayla's Lives!?!

Hot on the heels of the news that Stephen Nichols will be returning to the show this summer, comes news that six people from Steve's past will be popping up!

Judi Evans (Adrienne Johnson Kiriakis), Wally Kurth (Justin Kiriakis), and Marilyn McIntyre (Jo Johnson) will be returning in August for approximately ten episodes. "I've been researching the characters since I began to look into having them back. And now, I am VERY excited for them."...says the writer. "I always said that it was sad to see Judi Evans go but that we had to let Bonnie go because she just wasn't fitting in with the rest of the characters. So, now, that problem is resolved. We're going to alter her appearance a little bit - make her more Adrienne. Adrienne and Bonnie are so vastly different, and Judi is so talented that we don't think it will be a problem for fans."

"Their returns are obviously going to be intertwined with Nichols' return as Steve "Patch" Johnson. Fans will see Steve before then, but he won't make his return to Salem until late August which is when we will see Justin and Adrienne. Unfortunately, it's going to be a short stay, but Victor's storyline will be in full swing by then, so expect Justin and Adrienne to interact with Victor too! I'd love to write for them longer, but there's just no room! There are so many characters already on to write for. But I'd like to use them for this short time and then, maybe sporadically in the fall and winter as more and more begins to come back to Steve. So, they are potentially recurring."

The Blog is also pleased to announce that another person who was recently let go will be returning! Matt Ashford will be reprising his role as Jack around the same time. "We can't tell this story without him!"...raves the writer. "He'll be back, and he'll be alone. He's going to be back for good! Jack with no Jen!? This is when things will really get interesting!"

Perhaps, the most shocking bit of news for readers is the next tidbit! Michael Sabatino will be reprising his role as Lawrence Alamain and will also have a big role in Patch's return. "This is another character that I simply cannot imagine telling this story without! If fans can remember or if some fans do not know, he was seemingly responsible for faking Patch's death. He will be back for a brief return, a few months. There is going to be a big, big, big umbrella storyline that unfolds. It's unfolding before the readers' eyes already and has been for about three months. There's one big clue. It's kind of like the Da Vinci Code, only not nearly as clever - or subtle!"...the writer jokes. "It's going to be revealed during November Sweeps. So, stay tuned for that. He is going to pay for what he did to our Steve! But, I do warn you, there is a big twist coming up here in regard to how Steve 'died.' "

Shayna Rose will be bringing the character of Stephanie Johnson to Salem in August on a recurring basis. "The cast is so jam-packed. But this story necessitates her prescence. Stephanie will be popping up in Salem in the fall when we need her, but there's no immediate story for her yet. She'll be heavily involved in the big umbrella storyline for September through November. After that? We'll see!"

In completely unrelated news, Kyle Brandt will be reprising his role as Phillip Kiriakis in early August. "It's really going to hit the fan. If readers remember how he was written out and think about how his return will affect Jan/Shawn/Belle, they should be pretty excited for the movement in that story." His return is temporary.
