  1. I think the truth about Barron has already been stated and, sadly, disregarded.
  2. LOL! Guilty as charged. Nicely done.
  3. It's because they despise education. Especially public education. That's why one of there biggest talking points is hatred for the "elites."
  4. This is America. We're stupid, mean and armed to the teeth. Something terrifying is always about to happen.
  5. These march pics are beautiful.
  6. As it should.
  7. I've never been a big Twitter user but I deleted my account after Trump won. It's pretty obvious that the new regime considers Twitter its preferred propaganda tool.
  8. If you want to get a real sense of how deluded and entitled his followers are I encourage you to read this Newsweek piece on Bikers for Trump. These people take zero responsibility for their failures yet demand to be catered to all while blaming others. "Egbert, 64, clad in a Semper Fi Marine baseball hat and Bikers for Trump regalia, voted for Obama in ’08, but “went full bore Republican” after the attack in Benghazi, Libya. “I was a good union boy,” he said. “But in 2013, I worked exactly five weeks” and earned a total of $11,000 that year. He blames Obama. “Any work I got was runoff from Bush,” he said. Egbert took his pension early and quit the union, which he says didn’t represent his interests. “They just wanted me for the voting. Unions, they might have done something for my people back in the day,” he says. “Not anymore.” Egbert currently has no health insurance, and he’s hoping he doesn’t get sick in the year before he turns 65 and Medicare kicks in. “In my opinion, Obamacare was made to help immigrants and refugees,” he says. “If something happens to me, I’m going to write a letter to Trump. I’m not saying he’s going to save me, but...” His wife has congestive heart failure and couldn’t afford the Obamacare premiums, so she’s managed to get on Medicare. Egbert, who served in the Marines during peacetime, accused Obama of “throwing aside” Gold Star families and vets to focus on un-gendered bathrooms, another policy idea he’s looking forward to being dropped. “If my daughter went into a bathroom with a male figure, she’d be in trouble and so would he!” These are the people we're supposed to be crying salty tears for.
  9. But Snatchgrabber said he was going to keep his account so who will be running the POTUS account?
  10. See? I told you we'd have something to smile about.
  11. Honestly? Yes, it did. Obama's inauguration was covered all day and every second. Basically because a lot of us expected him to get assassinated.
  12. I don't have any trouble with people cracking jokes. I mean damn, look at that inauguration lineup and tell me that isn't comedy gold. If my intel is solid (my company's DC office is up to its armpits in this circus) we might get a few things to smile about. It'll be a sad, dark day so its more important than ever we take our giggles where we can. I'm going to the movies. I plan to basically move into one of my local recliner theatres for the day. One serves alcohol and full meals brought to your seat. The other, which has a better seat layout offers gelato, fresh baked cookies and a tea bar. (I'm a tea drinker.) Either way, I'm not going to lay one eye on the fuckery unless I hear breaking news that the event was struck by lightning.
  13. They did take it seriously. They seriously didn't give a [!@#$%^&*]. They seriously cared only about profits because they have nothing to fear. Their employees are going to be the target (see: James Acosta) but the people who own the networks and cable outlets have no regrets as evidenced by NBC hiring Megyn Kelly and Greta Van Whatsit.
  14. I adored Taylor Miller. Cliff and Nina were my first supercouple. Her last appearance was when James Mitchell died and they wrote Palmer's death into the show.
  15. I think we aren't hearing about the more dangerous stuff because if Trump follows his master's lead he's going to start trying to jail and/or kill journalists. The SNL stuff is a safe way to troll him while they see just how bad this is about to get. The canaries in the coal mine to keep an eye on are Farenthold and Eichenwald. They've both already had to hire private security. Over the next few months journalists (real ones, not broadcast) are going to have to figure out if they are willing to put themselves at risk. Frankly, anyone thinking of ways to oppose what's coming need to ask themselves the same thing. A lot of people are going to get killed and the best we can hope is that most of them go down swinging. Also, Trump is a narcissist. Making fun of him is a good tactic because he can't let anything go. That's why we are still talking about his tiny hands because someone made a remark about that in 1988 and Trump spent the next 25 years refuting it.
  16. I think the point is that attacking SNL is something Trump considers a priority and can't move past. Just like attacking Meryl Streep He's a thin skinned idiot who can't control himself and he considers going after SNL just as important as destroying NATO.
  17. This is just the beginning. They are going to lay waste to everything decent that has happened in the country for the last 50 years.
  18. I didn't like the idea of free college either or a $15 minimum wage either. Both ideas were part of the reason I didn't vote for Bernie. I'm all for reducing student loan debt but IMO we still haven't figured out free K-12 education. Curriculum issues aside we have crumbling buildings and packed classrooms and we're still doing summers off like we're an agrarian society. But we can't do year-round school because...see crumbling buildings with no air conditioning. As for the minimum wage, I think it should vary depending on the cost of living in your state. $12 in Ohio will probably go further than $15 in NYC for example. So much of what turned me off of Bernie was his penchant for sweeping statements and simple plans. What I LOVED about Hillary was the amount and thought and detail she put into her plans. Plans for things no one else cared about: mental illness, shoring up HBCUs, job training for coal miners to move into green jobs, etc...
  19. When has Anonymous ever done anything helpful? They love to issue threats but usually all that happens is they end up doxxing some innocent person. I remember when they said they were going to release the names of legislators with ties to the Klan. One of them ended up being a Hispanic woman. Frankly the fact that hackers and leakers have decided they can set our national agenda is part of what brought us Trump. I had a Bernie supporter I was fighting with online yesterday tell me "Bernie was fighting for YOU!" All I could say was "If this is the result of Bernie fighting for me then please tell me how to make him stop before someone burns a cross on my lawn."
  20. You're right and that's part of the reason it hurts so much. How's that for irony?
  21. Same here. He gave this country everything and we spit in his face. Look at what his biggest "mistake" was: trying to make sure everyone in America had access to health care. But the one I still can't stand to look at because of the shame it makes me feel is Michelle. She deserved so much better than she got. Obama said it best: she took a job she didn't ask for and did it with style, grace and kindness and in return she and her children were called monkeys.
  22. This thing is going to be a glorious trainwreck topped off by what will no doubt by an inaugural address that will rival Hitler or Mussolini in its petty ugliness and yet be incoherent enough to somehow give comedians material for years.
  23. Here's another Tumblr keeping track of Trumpers with buyer's remorse. http://www.areyousorryyet.com/
  24. I can't say I was clamoring for this but it will be interesting to see what the show is like given 11 years of social progress. I've occasionally watched some clips on YouTube and now I kind of cringe. Some of that stuff hasn't aged well.
  25. According to CNN, Trump's labor pick is having second thoughts. I'm not getting my hopes up but it would be a nice victory if at least one of these lunatics said "Screw this" and walked away. ETA: I forgot about Monica Crowley being taken down by plagiarism charges. That was nice to see. She, like Kellyanne, has been a pox on the soul of America for years.
