For all the "put it on the floor and make him vote no" folks, I just want to remind folks that the Senate is in recess so there will be no vote until next year. There's going to be lots of trash talk and drama egged on by a bored and salty Beltway press.

She's come a LONG way from that performance at ConFUSION so many years ago.

I've never expected him to be convicted. I'm genuinely surprised that the jury is still out.

For me some of it is burnout but part of it is that I actually have some trust in the people doing this: Bennie Thompson, Nancy Pelosi, and yes, Merrick Garland. I don't feel the need to breathlessly second-guess everyone involved. I never doubted that Bannon would be charged. The only question in my mind was how long it would take.

Manchin and Gottheimer are Democrats. Period. Whatever my issues with Manchin and his ilk, they don't run against the Democratic Party. The same can't be said for progressives. During the primary here in OH-11, progressives swooped in and called me and every other non-Bernie voter "corporate Democrats." That label is offensive bullshit and it's part of why Nina Turner lost.

I'm with Quinn Cummings. I look forward to seeing what this chick looks like when nasty gray roots start growing out.

I wish people would let go of that thumbs down mess. She didn't vote against the minimum wage she (and SEVEN other Democrats) voted against trying to include it in the COVID relief package after it has been stripped out by the parliamentarian.

I'm done letting polls damage my calm ever again. Pollsters and pundits thought the CA recall would be close, that Eric Adams would lose the NY mayoral primary, and that Nina Turner had a snowball's chance in hell of winning OH-11. Someone on the ground I trust thinks T-MAC will be fine and the turnout seems to be really, really good. At some point maybe it's time to admit that polling in the current environment is broken for all sorts of reasons and adjust accordingly. As for Manchin, he's just flexing for his constituents back home. He'll do the right thing. He usually does. I remember all this. But the truth is that when people were pushing for Northam to resign, polls showed that 60 percent of Black voters wanted him to stay. As soon as I saw that, I knew he wasn't going anywhere.

Nope. That will always be Ted Cruz.

If she does, so be it. At some point it's time to put everyone on record.

Elie Mystal is also a grifter and a liar. He understands how subpoenas work. He knows that the midnight deadline was for documents and no way is the DOJ going to fan agents out across the country at 12:01. That's not how law enforcement works. Mystal spreads disinformation because he wants to get on TV. People like Wilson and Mystal hate Democrats. They are not our allies.

I don't trust anything the Beltway press is saying right now. They've lost all credibility and are only in the for the drama.

People need to manage their expectations around Jan. 6. It will take years for some of these people to be held accountable. The organizers of the Charlottesville riot still haven't gone on trial. That was four years ago. Anyone thinking this is going to be speedy are only setting themselves up for heartbreak.

I've checked out on all the haggling. I'm just going to hope for the best. Part of the reason I voted for Biden was so I didn't have to follow every development in Washington like some macabre reality show.

It was never going to be $3.5T. Never. We were always looking at around $2T. Even $1.5T is a big deal depending on what's in there.

I hope I live long enough to learn the behind the scenes story on how Pelosi made this happen. At this point, I can only assume found a horse's head in their bed.

The truth is that the only way this country survives is by the rest of us marching in lockstep for the next few years. Black, brown, white, queer, men, women, Jewish, Muslim, etc... we've got to stand up for each other even if it means short term hits. The scary thing is that a lot of people on the left crave authoritarianism. The most important thing is to remove Republicans from government on every level.

I'm just going to be honest about this, a lot of the problem is misogyny. The more Democrats elevate Black and brown women the more certain men will feel threatened. This goes back to something I keep saying: the Democrats are a coalition. Appealing to one part of that coalition often risks alienating another part. This something continually ignored when people complain about Democratic "messaging." Blow mentions that lots of Black and Brown men oppose abortion. What "message" does he think Dems can offer someone like that? I don't trust anyone on the left who complains about the two-party system. This is it. There isn't ever going to be a viable third party so deal with reality.

Wonderful news! This was one of the many things Trump did as an attack on the functioning of government itself.
