Go Freddie! He looks great, has a beautiful fiancée, and doesn’t need Days as his only source of income. Funny how those who hate him watch his every move and watch his youtube and insta videos. Score for Freddie!

I know...all the negativity and nasty comments are so childless and energy draining just to read.  This board in general has started to become a forum for juvenile comments...not a discussion.

Not liking a specific character or not caring for a certain actor is fine. We all have opinions on what we do and don't like. But when it falls into personal insults and "jokes" about DUIs or constant obsessions with a person's weight, it's just sad. Hint= being bitchy does not equal having a personality...and hold onto your hats...a happy person doesn't feel the need to constantly put others down.

Well said. I agree with these comments as well as some of the others speaking out against the constant and often out of line bashing of Freddie. As well as those that wonder why people would follow him if you don't like him.

If people want to criticize his acting skills that's fine and if people simply aren't attracted to him okay. But people constantly attacking him personally including the constant jabs at his weight and attacking his fiancee looks is beyond the pale. It's mean spirited and immature. I think his fiancee is lovely but regardless that comment about her was not cool.

I've been critical of Chandler's acting before but I don't attack him personally. I don't follow his  social media regularly. I don't know for sure if he has an girlfriend and I don't care one way or the other. If he did have one I wouldn't insult her looks. I didn't even know he could sing until that video was posted in this thread. I don't do stuff like that and I think he's a nice guy IRL. Just like I believe Freddie is.

It would be better if more people would cut out the constant personal attacks on Freddie and now his fiancee. Criticizing his acting is fine and one thing but attacking him for all of this other stuff is not.

  2. Are any of you guys going to watch this six part special that debuts tonight on CNN at 10pm EST?

I know we've had several specials on the royal family in recent years but I normally like the way that CNN does documentaries on subjects like these(Including their specials on presidents and their families.) Plus, they said this documentary will feature rare footage and will cover before Queen Elizabeth took over to what's going on with Henry/Meghan now. I think it's going to be an interesting series.

He looks great that way. I wonder why soaps are so adverse to the younger men having facial hair. I’m 31 and most of my guy friends all have beards or facial hair and still look young.

I don't know. It seems like Days never wanted Freddie/Sonny to have facial hair. It seems like he always had to shave it before he went back to taping. Even though I think he looks better with facial hair.

I think that a lot of men in general (maybe most) look better with at least some amount of facial hair. I would like to see more men including some of the younger ones wear it more.

  4. Janet has recently reemerged promoting her music and a new tour. She went on "The View" to surprise Whoopi and the rest of the co-hosts and entire audience with tickets. She also showed up on Jimmy Fallon's late night show and did a very cool rendition of "Runaway" using classroom instruments. If you're a Janet fan this will put a smile on your face.

I've looked at a couple of appearances with her lately. (Including the one on Fallon). And she seems happy and as gracious as ever. She really is lovely and I'm glad to see she's happy.

  5.  I like the new headshots of Freddie, especially the one in the hoodie. He looks nice with the beard and like the casual look on him. And I have always liked the color of his eyes and they come through in those picture.

I hope if he has another gig in the future he will allowed to wear a beard. And style his hair more freely. For whatever reasons it also seems like wardrobe on Days wanted to keep him clean shaven,  and style his hair/dress him in a way that like middle aged man in the political arena might dress.

I would like to see him styled better if he gets on another show. I could see another show styling him better. (Like maybe another soap like Y&R. I think that overall Y&R does a nice job with wardrobe.)

  6. I am a bit surprised the show got rid of both of them. But I wish them both the best. I know he catches a lot of heck from people online but I have always liked Freddie Smith/Sonny. He seems like a very nice guy in real life and appreciative of his opportunity.

I wonder where he and Chandler may pop up next. I wonder if they may pop up on another soap.

  7. Sean Dominic as Nate was added to the opening credits a couple of days ago. He looks very handsome in them.

He was also looking very handsome the other day when he was talking to Amanda. I am glad they were interacting and she opened up to him a little about her past with Ripley. They continue to have nice chemistry/sparkle together. And they matched in these scenes:

It's a shame they haven't been interacting as much, since Billy has been thrown into Amanda's story line. Billy and Amanda don't have chemistry and their interaction/chemistry continues to feel stale. Nate should be the on in this story getting closer to Amanda/helping her deal with Ripley. It really does feel like Billy is thrown into it to give him and Victoria angst. And it's not really working.

i had no idea he and Tessa are dating IRL. lol

Yeah, they've been together at least for several months now. They were together at least around the time he left the show which was early last year. So maybe they've been together at least almost a year, maybe even longer than that.

I wish they would have kept Fen around longer. I enjoy Zach and his affable and handsome self.

  9. RIP to Kirk Douglas. I'm glad he lived a very long and I believe happy life. It's also nice he had a very long marriage and was close his children, especially Michael. I was just talking about Kirk the other day with my dad. We had wondered how old he was exactly, (we knew he was over 101, lol). We had looked up his age, and was glad to see that he was still around and was as old as he was. He was definitely one of the last of his kind from his generation.

  10. According to soaps.com day ahead recap for tomorrow's episode, Kyle and Lola will decide to end their marriage. He will say that he's not completely over Summer and she's in his heart and Lola will admit that Theo gets her like Summer gets Kyle. After Kyle and Lola admit these things, they will agree to end their marriage.Kyle will also tell Lola that he will go get a hotel room. Kyle will end up seeing Summer aftewards and Lola will tell Theo that she really needs a friend and asks him to stick around.

Also, Amanda's ex fiance Ripley Turner will pop up in her hotel room tomorrow.

Ok I take back what I said. Mishael looks great. And thank god they updated Hunter’s. Her previous one was not flattering.

I actually haven't minded the wig on her (though, I know that a lot of people don't care for it.) But I think that her hair has been looking really good lately, since she's taken it off. Including the way it was styled the other day in the ponytail, when she helped Billy after he got into the fight. It's looking really good. I am really liking these looks that she's been wearing recently.

Oh dear. Witness Protection Mishael. Her Hilary shot (with her opening her eyes) was iconic.

Here is the video for the latest updated version of the opening credits that someone posted on twitter, with Mishael in them.  It looks like they have been adding quite a few people lately. I'm glad to finally see Michael Mealor appear in them.

  13. I don't think this has been reported yet, but Jamie Lyn Bauer, said that the show recently asked her to come back and film two episodes. I'm guessing to help with the Theo being a long lost Brooks/Abbott story line. Unfortunately she turned the show down because she would have been in the middle of vacationing with her family. Hopefully, they will invite her back in the future:

  14. Here are a few spoilers from SOD for next week:

Victor will share important words of wisdom, and Kyle will end up giving into temptation, Theo and Lola will kiss, and Jack will question Theo's motives. Also, an unexpected guest will surprise Victor, Phyllis will settle a score, Amanda will stand her ground, and Billy lose control. Also Sharon will get a visit from Cassie, Victor will have pictures taken of Amanda/Billy and show them to Victoria. Victoria will confront them and be convinced that Billy is cheating. But Amanda/Billy will feel as if they haven't done anything wrong. Also, Amanda may end up being in grave danger. Here is a picture of Theo kissing Lola:

    Lola kissing Theo.jpg

They have more chemistry than her and Kyle do IMO. Though I still think she's been a very unlikable character.

Interesting. And I think they did a nice job of casting Zach and Jesse sons:

    zack slater's son.jpg

Jesse's son (maybe Slater's as well, IMO, he looks like him, lol).

slater son.jpg    slater son pic 2.jpg

I don't know how many kids they will have but I am glad they at least each have one teen. (I thought I read somewhere that Jesse/Slater would have smaller children, but maybe that was a rumor, things changed or they have them in addition to Jamie) Both Zach/Jesse are old enough to have a teenager. And truth be told Zach could have a 20 something with Kelly. If they are still together they would have been married like 26 years now. Even if they waited a few years to have kids after they married, they still could have a 20 something.

I wonder if Jesse's son Jamie Spano is Slater's son. I could buy him as Slater's son. But if he is, I do wonder why he doesn't have Slater's last name. I could see Jesse giving him a hyphenated name like Jamie Spano-Slater, but to leave Slater's name off altogether...hmmm... I wonder what the backstory is there.

This reminds me of the Aaliyah crash when there were reports that they were urged not to bring all of their equipment on the plane because it would be overweight and the production people insisted on bringing every piece of equipment onboard.  The pilot should have insisted that they not overload the small plane and emphasized that it could be the difference between life or death.

Also JFK Jr. who insisted on flying his wife and S-I-L to a wedding even though he had only recently gotten his license. He had made what were described as rookie errors that had a fatal outcome.

Yeah, these types of mistakes really could be the difference between life and death. One of the things that I think people can try and learn from situations like these is it really is better to be safe than sorry. Always air on the side of caution. Especially if there are dangerous/potentially life threatening risks. If it's not safe to do something including fly for some reason, Then don't fly. Until it's safe to do, or you meet the regulations to do so. I know in various situations people may think what's the harm in going against recommendations, or think they can make it doing some violations, but it could be the difference between living and dying.

The pilot should have never been allowed to fly. I don't care how much you have or who you are, if other flights were grounded, then the helicoper should have been too. I'm sure law suits are coming.

Yeah, from what I read even law enforcement (both the LAPD and the Sherrif's department) had grounded their helicopters from flying until later that afternoon as the fog was so severe, and it wasn't perceived to be safe. I read that Kobe's pilot had to get special permission to fly. Eyewitnesses said they saw the helicopter was flying low and was struggling, though they couldn't make everything out because it was so foggy. They said it didn't sound right. A former pilot who used to fly Kobe in the Chopper said that he believed that bad weather may have been the cause of the crash even moreso than mechanical issues. These articles have some more details about what happened:

We will learn more after they conduct their investigation, but its sounding like this is something that could have been prevented.
