  1. Slick, I am POSITIVE that Harris Yulin played a small role on One Life to Live. It was in the middle 1980s (1984-1987) during the Rauch years. Also, David Pendleton played another on The Edge of Night. This was attorney David Roper, a suitor of Didi Bannister and foil of Det. Calvin Stoner.
  2. Yes, that is Thom Christopher (Carlo and Mortimer)! I think that Pamela Lincoln was also in the same commercial.
  3. Yes. Jason did much of the same work that a press agent would. He arranged for Grayson (not sure of her character's name) to come to Pine Valley and to write an article about Erica and Jeff and their life in Pine Valley.
  4. Ms. Holly also mentioned Joseph Papp, who worked on Search for Tomorrow for many years.
  5. I watched Ellen Holly's tapes last night. She mentioned Marion Colon (who was later to appear on One Life to Live).
  6. The clip above from 1981 features my two favorite All My Children actresses: Linda Gibboney (who became my favorite actress on the show upon her first appearance) and the late Kay Campbell. Tempo magazine goes all the way back into the early 1970s when Erica had her first modeling career and Grayson Hall (from Dark Shadows) came to Pine Valley to write a story on her for Tempo. John E. Dunn was the second actor to play the role. The wonderful child actor Matthew Anton (who was later in Pretty Baby with Brooke Shields and Keith Carradine) originated the role. His co-star in Sleepaway Camp was Kathy Kalmi, who later appeared on All My Children as Brandon and Sarah's daughter. Alan Dysart as Sean was wonderful the first time that he was on the show. When "Sean" returned from prison and was working for Adam Chandler, he had little to do. He was still just as good, but the storylines were not there for him to play.
  7. Slick, I DO remember Lawrence Hugo on All My Children. I do not remember the name of his character. He played a bigwig friend of Palmer's who came to visit Palmer and Donna. He recognized Donna as a former prostitute partner of his.
  8. I just viewed an episode of As the World Turns on YouTube. It was from 1961, I think. Characters shown were Chris (Don McLauglin), Grace (Frances Reid), Penny (Rosemary Prinz), Doug (Nat Pollen), Jeff (Mark Rydell), and someone named Tom. I do not remember Tom. He seemed to be interested in Ellen. I do remember Jim Norman, who became engaged to Ellen. Can anyone tell me more about Tom, especially the name of the actor who played him?
  9. Thank you. I attributed Becky Lee's change to her amnesia from which she suffered in the 1980s.
  10. Could you list the roles for Sasha von Schuller (if you have not already)?
  11. I was referring to the character played by Francesca James, who was not very nice. I don't remember her last name, and her name may have been spelled "Marcy."
  12. There are several more performer/writer combinations. I can think of at least five.
  13. The Tina character in the 1970s (played by Andrea Evans) was very different from the one that returned to Llanview (played first by Keli Mulroney and then again by Ms. Evans). Weren't there three actors cast as Paul Cramer? One was a temporary substitute. I loved the character when David Tom was playing Paul. Finally, what happened to Marcie? Did she die or did she go to prison?
  14. How many wedded couples consisting of a performer and a writer can you name?
  15. I just noticed the mistake. It should have read "Eddie," of course!
  16. I loved Karen Witter! I had not known that the show considered pairing Drew and Rachel.
  17. I wonder what happened to actress Julie Ann Johnson? She was the second actress to play Joy O'Neill. She also appeared on a commercial for Frito-Lay. I am thinking that she would have been good on All My Children as Brooke's adoptive daughter Laura.
  18. Yes, I think so. Of course, she was interviewed by the police when Jason Maxwell was murdered. I never can remember the character's name, but Burt Douglas played the police lieutenant during the Jason Maxwell storyline. He had completed his role of Ron Christopher on The Edge of Night.
  19. Susan Blanchard was on the L'eggs pantyhose commercials for MANY years. (even after her primetime show Mr. T. and Tina was cancelled.) I am thinking that Kitty was not a bigamist - that she and Hal were former spouces, but no one knew about him. The Boutique WAS used in drug smuggling, but Kitty wanted nothing to do with it. It was Hal who was using the dress shop as a front for this illegal activity. I think that Claudette may have hatched the plan and am thinking that she was an employee of The Boutique. Erica was definitely jealous of Claudette. She had Benny to slip some drugs into Claudette's purse. However, Brooke saw this happen, so, when Erica was not looking, she went into Claudette's purse, got the same drugs, and slipped them into Erica's purse. Driving home that night, Erica was stopped by some policemen and was going to show them her driver's license. Of course, the drugs fell out and Erica was charged with drug possession. (This was right after some decrimilization rules were being enacted around the country, so it was a misdomener.) Claudette did have a drug overdose (at the Chateau) and left town for two years. (She possibly could have died, but Dr. Frank Grant was there, and he ordered her to be rushed to Pine Valley Hospital.) She returned to town and was played by another actress, (who I preferred). She had a one-night stand with Phil and then did date Lincoln for a while. (The actress was expecting, and I suspect that the show toyed with the idea of Claudette having Phil's baby to set up an Erica and Claudette feud; Erica, of course, had lost Phil's baby and afterward had a nervous breakdown, which caused her hospitalization). I thought that she worked at The Chateau. It was Mrytle (who had left the show, possibly after Nigel's death) who found Kelly (Kitty's TWIN). She called Lincoln and told him about it. They got Kellly to come to Pine Valley so that he could meet her and so they could research the birth. (Kitty had originally come to town as a dance instructor who was looking for her natural mother.) Myrtle also stayed in town, buying the house that Phil had bought for Erica and turning it into a boarding house. Eddie was Kelly's manager, and they stayed in town. She got a job singing at The Cheateau (after Nick left town). You may not remember that because there were two other actors who played Eddie prior to Warren Burton. It was Eddie who kept Kelly on drugs so that she would have stamina. Kelly also was the rapist of Brooke. Brooke was impregnated and had an abortion. (the second one on the show, after Erica's) Phoebe hated him because of what had happened to Brooke, and so did Langley because Eddie knew the truth about Lenny's impersonation of someone he was not and that he was really Lenny Vlassic. Eddie seemed to make enemies everywhere. Lincoln disliked him, and so did Freddie and Ellen at the Chateau. Kelly was able to warn Tad (who was experimenting with drugs) about their dangers. However, he had very little will power in stopping his use of them.
  20. I had forgotten that Katie and Joey were in the same storyline. Thank you for reminding me. However, I could have sworn that she was in town on Thanksgiving. Opal had invited the Martin family to Courtlandt Manor for Thanksgiving dinner, and Palmer was not happy about it.
  21. Four members of the Kennecott family were shown: Mary Kinnecott Martin, R. N. Betsy Kinnecott Dan Kiinnecott Katie Kinnecott The role of Mary was created by Jacqueline Bosworth. She was first seen during Erica's abortion and cover-up. The role was quickly assumed by Susan Blanchard, and she and the actor who played Jeff #2 (Charles Frank) fell in love and were married in real life. It was Jeff and Mary who were initially to adopt Tad, but Mary developed an illness. Joe and Ruth then decided to adopt him. Some bad men came into the Martin home and murdered Mary. Jeff began seeing images of her which he thought were ghosts. Jeff then left for California. Dan Kinnecott was probably the next one to come to Pine Valley. Both Devon and Brooke chased after him. He decided upon Brooke (after her break-up from Benny). Devon was crushed and slept with Wally McFadden to prover her womanship to herself. She became pregnant, married Wally, and later had an affair with Sean Cudahy. She and Wally divorced, she left town, returned, tried to have a lesbian relationship with Dr. Lynn Carson, dated Jeff, then left to accompany Bonnie to Hollywood (where she was a popular child actress). Betsy Kinnecott, just as her older sister was, was a nurse at Pine Valley Hospital. She was best friends with Sybil Thorne and good friends of Dr. Clifford Warner and Nina Countlandt. When Jeff returned to Pine Valley from California, everyone was afraid of how he would react in seeing Betsy (because they said she looked so much like Mary - but the two actresses did not look alike at all.) Betsy never really had a serious boyfriend. However, after Devon and Wally divorced, he fell in love with her. I believe that she left town hoping that Wally and Devon would reunite (which did not happen) Katie Kennecott was a nursing student. She came to town but did not stay long.
  22. June Graham appeared on All My Children. I am not sure if her character even had a name. It was in a dream sequence.
  23. The real quadrangle was Jason-Erica-Jeff-Mary. Mary was introduced when Erica had her abortion. She and Jeff fell in love, and Erica was very mean to her.
  24. No, they were not involved with Jason at the same time. It was not a triangle. Margo HAD BEEN involved with him, but she only despised him. Her whole attitude on life was terribly negative (except for daughter Claudette).
  25. Erica and Margo were NOT both involved with Jason. Margo had a negative attitude about everything, and she tried to warn Erica about Jason. (Margo agreed to allow Erica as her roommate at Jason's insistence.) Her daughter Claudette was supposed to be the love daughter of Jason, and she had been (falsely) blackmailing him for years. She kept Claudette in the finest private schools, her modeling days were coming to an end (due to age), and she was afraid that if Jason spent money on Erica (who was still married), she and Claudette would be competing with Erica. Then Claudette became engaged to Spencer Montgomery, and Margo had the responsibility of paying for the wedding. What was not known at the time was that Jason was not even Claudette's father. Harry Flax, Margo's husband was. Harry came to New York and began blackmailing Margo, who having been desperate for money, suddenly became more desperate. The who-killed-Jason and the Dr. Jeff Martin murder trial storyline was good, but the resolution that Mona was the murderer was not very satisfying. Suspects included Jeff, Erica, Margo, and Harry. Kate had originally wanted Joe and Ann to pair up and marry. However, he fell in love with Ruth (who was suddenly widowed). Then Paul, who was long-thought to be dead, was discovered in Korea and returned. Eileen Letchworth was very good in the role of Margo. Margo later married Paul Martin (who, after returning to Pennsylvania from Korea, marrying and divorcing Ann, was on the rebound), but she had a great jealously of Ann. She secretly had the facelift because she thought it would help her keep him. After Claudette and Spencer divorced, Claudette came to Pine Valley. (This was the first time that she had been seen.) It was hinted that Claudette may have wanted Paul for herself and would steal him if she had the chance. It was never stated, but I have always suspected that Spencer Montgomery was related to Travis and Jackson Montgomery.
