Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Love every word of this flawless post about LA GRANDE DAME. I really despise Wendy for what she's been trying to do to Karen, but Karen can more than hold her own as she said Wendy might be educated but she sure was looking ignorant during that moment with Candiace.

I believe she has auditioned before - might be a few years ago, but that name has been circulating for a few seasons now.

Monique filing a criminal complaint against Candiace was simply based on good legal advice. The best defence is often to go on the offensive. When the DA’s office looked at an unedited tape, they dismissed the charges against both of them. I haven’t liked Wendy from the first episode and tonight’s show really reinforces that dislike for all the reasons you listed above. What a hypocrite. I was very glad Karen did not back down. She was 100% right and has been consistent with holding Monique accountable, as the flashback showed crystal clearly. Candiace is playing the game of wanting to make Karen choose and to shame her.

Thank you @Cat now I just need to figure out how to download these off YouTube. Indeed, I have long loved the OC finale music - it has this melancholic tone that's also hopeful that I will always love. The memories it conjures are the OC wives in seasons 3 - 5 as the credit crunch unfolded and they were all blissfully unaware of the financial carnage that awaited them. The BH music is based in more active strife - the clearest memory will be the Kim and Kyle limo fight. That song was practically made for that moment.

From what I've read, Tiffany opted to not return for Season 2 because she was uncomfortable with filming and how negative she felt the show was. You are so right about Leanne's wedding being akin to Sheila Carter finding happiness. It was bonkers.

OC I watched it...and it was way better than I expected it to be for a few reasons: 1. The Jeana Keough voiceover at the beginning of the episode. That was unexpected and haunting as we saw every single face of Oc wives past. 2. Jolie suddenly went from 11 to 27. My goodness she has grown up. Kelly's fillers give a certain Raquel Welch vibe to her look. 3. The Bronwyn scene at the very end. We could have spent an entire season to get to that admission.

POTOMAC Another great episode in what has been, so far, a stellar season. The focus on Karen this week was refreshing after the drama of the previous two weeks. I found Karen's return to her family farm moving. Those were lands on which her ancestors were slaves, which they now own and prosper from. Going to the church and seeing how emotional it made Karen, you get the impression the decline of her parents was brutal for her. The interaction between Ashley and Karen was interesting. They have certainly come a long way and both seems open to the other person. Gizelle is a mean, ugly hearted person. Her jealousy of all around her is palpable. Robyn's IRS tax issues are just...you couldn't make them up if you tried. Monique and Candiace. It is interesting to see Candiace's mother take the position she did when only a year ago Candiace accused her of hitting her with her purse. It is a shame that Candiace didn't get to hear Monique out, though I agree that I'd have pressed charges immediately.

I did not detect a single lie in Vicki's statement.

YES - it is so well balanced between comedy and drama. Honestly, it’s been the best franchise for the last 2 years.

Filthy Rich
Just finished the first three episodes in a binge watch and while it has potential I don’t think it’s been written cohesively enough to feel strong enough out of the gate. Kim Cattrall is wonderful and I wish they’d let her do more of the ‘dream sequence’ dialogue because I think the writing for Margaret is too restrained. The false note for me is Ginger. The focus on her and her mother just doesn’t work - or feels overemphasized at this point. It doesn’t make sense how she is on such equal footing with Margaret. Overall, it’s an uneven vehicle and the problems are down to the writing.

All good wishes for your friend's speedy and complete recovery. First hand accounts are so useful because they dispel the rosy outlook that certain liars and charlatans want to dupe the public to accepting. Dexamethasone has been in production for more than 50 years and is used in medicine for multiple treatment pathways. But one thing that is commonplace with dexamethasone is euphoria. What we are seeing in the White House is a direct result of that euphoria. And the thing is - it doesn't last. Herman Cain demonstrated much of the same trajectory, full of good news minimizing the seriousness, and he ended up dead.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
It's easily Top 5 episode...hard to rank them, but this episode just shot up the leader board. TEAM KAREN...she displayed a maturity, humility, frankness, and compassion not often seen on these kinds of shows. Karen kept it real, but did it with love, not harsh judgment. I am appalled at Gizelle acting like she has some reputation to protect when she should be busy knocking Jamal's d*ck out of the "6 or 7 baby's mommas" he's got out there. She is so high and mighty when we all know she's all talk and styles herself as a 1996 B Grade Vanessa L. Williams wannabe. Wendy was another one who I did not like. She was so angry over something that had nothing to do with her. You'd have thought Monique dragged her...I haven't really warmed to Wendy all season long, and this episode displayed a lot of why I can't get on board with her. Robyn, in contrast, I have to give some credit to. She listened. She had her preconceived ideas, and she probably isn't wrong to hold onto some of them, because she was pretty objective about the facts, but she did listen. And I cannot say that either Gizelle or Wendy bothered to do that. I was impressed with Ashley. She had an open mind about all of it, as she's been on the receiving end of Candiace's crap. I think bringing the baby was an inspired choice, he kept things calmer than they otherwise would have gone. Obviously, Monique was dead wrong to lay hands on Candiace, but I was glad she admitted that she didn't feel remorseful at that point because she didn't know how to feel. That was honest. Candiace remains absolutely deluded and got on social media this evening real quick to try and justify why she said she didn't think she had any role in the physical part of that fight. She remains a stupid, spoiled, entitled brat. She is her worst enemy when she opens her mouth and starts flapping her gums. She is just not that sympathetic a character.

The Sonja one is incredible and could be an actual tagline. Same with Lu's. The Potomac mid-season trailer is everything I hoped it would be and more. Looks like Monique bows out the balance of the season, I just hope Gizelle and Robyn finally get their comeuppance.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
RHOP delivered like I didn't know any show could deliver in a single episode. Talk about a franchise firing on all cylinders. And it all feels authentic and real. The producers must have been filled with glee as filming this season unfolded. It was truly a perfect storm. Monique vs. Candiace. I am not fan of Candiace, but Monique was like a rabid dog and she was totally in the wrong with how she acted. When she bolted from the producer and ran outside it was clear she had lost her ever loving mind. However, I hope Candiace realizes that her mouth is writing cheques her ass can't cash. All of her perceived verbal might was nothing for Monique's fists. Ashley and Michael were also riveting to watch as Ashley started negotiating Ashley's New Deal...get your money, honey. Michael is such a disgusting pig, it boggles my mind why she's in this farce of a marriage, but she may as well take her sweet time planning her exit. Karen and Ray. Whew...that was a tough final scene where Karen was so obviously devastated that Ray basically pulled a Prince Charles with his "whatever in love means" statement. That had to hurt and feel humiliating in a sense that after 23 years of marriage, bailing his ass out when the IRS came knocking, that he couldn't be definitive. Marriages go through rough patches, but for her sake I hope they're on the upswing. Gizelle, Jamal, their kids, and her Father...for me this was absolutely the highlight of the episode when Gizelle's father had his steaming hot mic moment. He kept it exquisitely real once the camera was off him. 6 or 7 baby mommas! He hates Jamal like only a father of a wronged daughter can.

Dr. Fauci is rightly mad as hell and he's not going to take it anymore. Rand Paul, an ophthalmologist, a physician, should be absolutely ashamed of himself. He has contracted COVID-19 himself. He is a fool and a whore who has sold himself to the devil.

You couldn’t make up the timing. Mellencamp’s spawn gets fired right as Mauricio (and Farrah) gets the listing for the sale of her house and act for her in the purchase of a $6.5 million pile in Encino.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
Selling Sunset is a sensation - Season 3 premiered this summer and it really caught the zeitgeist. Chrishell is the 'heroine' of the show and comes across well. You see her marriage to Justin Hartley implode in the latest season (he doesn't appear in it).

Nene is the David Caruso of reality television. She always bites the hand that feeds her and is apparently quite difficult with production from what we have seen. She really did appear to burn her bridges on RHOA last season, so this isn't a surprise and the show will not suffer from her absence. I have not yet seen the RHOBH Part 2...but it sounds like it's what I've expected given the way the season has progressed.

Definitely. The restaurant industry in the United States is sort of shocking in the way employees are treated (though in California it is required to pay actual minimum wage, rather than what most states allow for tipped wages). If LVP and company did take those loans, I can't really fault them however they spent them, whether it was employee wages or on rent. Commercial leases are absolutely brutal to tenants and are usually personally guaranteed by an individual (like LVP or Ken or Guillermo or Nathalie), so I can't fault anyone whose going to put their own personal interest ahead because a commercial lease on a space on Robertson Boulevard in West Hollywood is worth millions of dollars as a liability that would bankrupt most people. Agreed that everyone is decimated - I'd only hope that the smaller family owned restaurants are being supported by their local communities, as appears to be the case where I am, and that they're able to do takeout in an economically feasible way. If these stories had come from elsewhere, I'd have ignored them, but we've already seen Villa Blanca fall, and those two sources are more 'plugged in' to what's going on in LA on the ground level.

It's a good point about the PPP loans...but restaurants, especially high end restaurants, usually operate on a knife's edge of profitability that would render her businesses gutted. And the PPP, the little I know of it, isn't a never ending source of money (it's got a 24 week cap on it) and as California has had long lockdown periods that start, stop, and star again as Covid-19 cases surge, it would hardly make a dent in the losses between rent, supply contracts, insurance, and employees. Really, the hospitality industry is the #1 economic casualty, and LVP's type of restaurant is atop that heap.

I can't speak to what the rules are right now in Los Angeles, but I don't think takeaway or delivery would make any sense for LVP's restaurants. Delivery and takeaway is hard for even a modest restaurant to make money on, but the cost of producing food, at venues that were always better known for the drinks/atmosphere than the food, would wipe out any income production because of staff and ingredient costs alone. Vanderpump Rules also remains an unknown entity. The recent interview with the Bravo executive certainly made it seem like Bravo is looking at retooling or resting the show, if not canceling it outright, despite its ratings/demo success. LVP herself has said it's been a struggle on Lala and Randall's podcast, but I don't doubt she's going to minimize what's really going on. If her house goes up for sale, as Dorit and PK's has, we can be sure all is not well financially. Hopefully she will be well with her personal finances.
