  1. I don't think the end of AMC should be Erica living happily ever after to be honest. That flies in the face of the whole Scarlett O'Hara motif the character has been built on. Tomorrow is another day and I think the final shot of Erica needs to be Jackson telling her he doesn't give a damn (in so many words) and Erica melodramatically promising herself she is going to get him back. Then the actual final scene I would have with the actually happy Martins, Dr Joe leading his family in a dinner with all the various Martins and hangers on situated around the table while he recites the AMC poem in lieu of saying grace. Very Norman Rockwell for Joe, Tad and crew, and very Margaret Mitchell for Erica Kane. OLTL...this is not the Clint Viki was ever with, so I guess you have to go with Viki, Bo and Dorian somehow, and perhaps the wedding of Kelly and Joey would be the perfect coming together for the two families allowing the elder vets to beam and marvel at the wonder families they preside over.
  2. I would pay to see this entire story again
  3. This may be my alltime favorite scene from AMC, Ruth Warrick holding court as Phoebe goes into an overwrought non-confession and the real killer is revealed
  4. I hope there is some way they can bring Dixie back so Tad and she can ride off into the sunset. And I hope Joe makes it back for the final scene with Erica.
  5. In the early 80s AMC was magic.
  6. just for the beautiful music alone this is worth posting.
  7. Hmm, that is a pretty tuneless song. When you think about the songs that made Britney a star, they were all really hummable, memorable tunes that little girls could sing effortlessly. This I listened to and would be hard pressed to repeat it back to you also, her dancing skills have dropped considerably. They try to hide it with non stop cutting, but she isn't even half the dancer she used to be.
  8. do you have a link for the passions on youtube?
  9. I don't think he'll ever run. He is an egomaniac who likes attention, but he is not going to put up with scrutiny into his private life. Also, his positions are all pretty much fake. Wasn't he pro choice just a few years ago? Plus, he has no experience in anything except building bankrupt casinos, so who needs that? Most importantly, his hair.
  10. I remember watching the first episode, and I didn't even make it all the way through.
  11. no idea who these people are, but it a song for St Patrick
  12. have any of you ever heard Diane Keaton sing? I was watching this movie recently and forgot just how good she was as a singer
  13. 2012 can't get here soon enough.
  14. all your items Carl are just illustrations of Republicanism in full bloom. They seek a return to a time when there were no unions, no social security, one even wants no public education dept, no hea;th care for the needy, no regulation of big business...you might as well just turn the calendar back to 1911.
  15. I don't know what link led me to this, but I have not heard thing song in forever..decades the early 70s is such an interesting time for music. You have classic rock, the birth of disco, the whole singer/songwriter thing, and then stuff like this.
  16. One of the best groups ever
  17. I come back to this song always. and it is able to be totally morphed
  18. I don't blame them for not voting for him because of this. Just a month after tax cuts for the rich, he is cutting heat for the poor? It's something out of Dickens and Scrooge would be proud.
  19. oh wow, Kimberly Locke! She was pretty good but this is the one I remember most It's sad that she finished out of the money and yet she was better than the last five winners maybe. But her year the fix was in for some guy nobody ever heard of again.
  20. I saw her in Central Park all those years ago. She is hit and miss. That was a great show, but a few years later she did a concert at Radio City which was pretty much a 45 minute farce.
  21. This is a curious novelty song I believe from the year 1949...just listen to the lyrics I never knew such song were made back then, and apparently this one quite popular. and her she sings I guess a sequel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GL-XGpJTsso
  22. There just isn't a new crowd. Tennis seems to always be about the top rivalry with everyone else that we have to pretend is a factor. Evert/Navratilova was the greatest sports rivalry probably ever and it lasted something like 15 years. If someone else made it into a final it was a fluke. This will be a critical time for Federer because if he fails to reach the final again he risks being ranked 3rd again. I imagine the last thing he wants is to start facing Nadal in semis.
  23. I have found that there is a fascination with uber-American things even as everyone looks down on America. I remember living in London back in the 80s and more than once ran into someone who was curious if it was just like Dallas. Gangsters, westerns, big soap operas...people seem to like these unrealistic fantasy American concepts even as Americans get bored with them. Recently I was playing a game online with someone from Europe and all he could tell me was how much he loved Jersey Shore and thought it was the greatest show he ever saw. He was disappointed when I could not reply with the proper response to his Jersey catchphrase of "Gym, Tan, Laundry" Not everyone of course, but these broad things that cross language barriers seem to have always been popular.
  24. Chris Pine as Blake...I think that is an interesting choice because he did show this great ability to channel William Shatner without actually imitating him and presume he could do the same for Forsythe. Plus, he has the great head of hair anyone needs to step into Forsythe's tux. Not familiar with her suggestion for Alexis. ok, not seeing this for her. He fits.
